The Cherished Wife

Chapter 911

Tania rushed upstairs and caught Peter trying to calm down a sobbing Brandon. She scrunched her eyebrows. "What's going on here?"

She swooped in, scooped Brandon into her arms, and cradled him close. Her expression was the picture of concern. "Shh... It's okay, Brandon. Mommy's got you. What's the matter, sweetie? Did you miss me?"

"Mommy, owie!" Brandon's tear-streaked face was heartbreaking. "I need mommy's cuddles!" He clung to Tania's neck like a little koala.

Tania shot Peter a wary look. "Why's he in pain? What happened?"

Peter's brow creased. "It's nothing, really. Brandon just took a tumble out of bed. I'm no good with kids," he confessed, keeping a straight face.

Tania did not buy it and glanced over at Charles and Steven. "Bro..."

Charles chimed in, "Peter's telling the truth. We all rushed over when we heard the crash. You know, guys like us are clueless with kids!" He winked at Steven, who smirked and said, "Looks like Peter's not winning any 'Dad of the Year' awards today!"

Tania was speechless, and so was Peter.

Charles just stood there.

Steven's comment was like adding insult to injury!

He coughed awkwardly. "The kiddo's adorable. He's a chip off the old block-just like Peter back in the day!"

Tania was silent.

Peter was silent.

Charles was silent.

It was painfully obvious things were a mess. However, when Steven blurted the obvious out, Tania felt like she had been smacked right across the face.

With a scoff, Tania retorted, "Looks like Steven should get his eyes checked. How could my son look anything like Mr. Lennon? He's not his dad, for crying out loud!"

Peter squinted. "Tania, whether he's my kid or not, I'm going to make sure he becomes mine. You don't believe me? Just watch!"

Peter and Steven headed downstairs, leaving Tania quivering with rage from Peter's bold claim. She glared at his back, muttering, "Despicable!" "Tania!" Charles shook his head gently. "How did you get to know Trevon?"

Tania blinked, taken aback. "Why are you asking about him, Charles?"

Charles fell silent, then gently took Brandon from Tania's arms, soothing the little one as he carried him downstairs. Tania followed quickly "You haven't answered me. Why are you bringing up Trevon? What about him?" S

"If you won't spill the beans, I'll figure it out myself, Tania..." Charles's gaze was icy as he faced Tania. "Didn't it ever cross your mind that the reason I couldn't find you for three years might have something to do with Trevon?"

Tania froze. "That's impossible. Trevon wouldn't do that. Our paths crossed by chance, and he saved my life four years ago. I..."

Charles looked deeply into Tania's eyes, then gave her shoulder a reassuring pat. "Let's not dwell on that right now. How did your visit to the hospital go today? What did the doctor say?"

"Mr. Smith said I need a complete

checkup. It's been a few years, andnoveldrama

there have been changes in my body and my mom's body. He's

concerned about a potential

rejection in my mom's body, so we have to repeat all the previous tests. We won't get the results for a while."

Tania's spirits dipped when she mentioned Nancy's illness. "Oh, and Eloise, the girl Steven brought around, is..."

"She could be your second uncle's daughter!"
