Chapter 66
I was looking at Sara trying to assure her that everything was going to be alright. But I wasn't sure if it was going to be okay. I saw the witch pull out a dagger that had a strange smell to it. And when she moved it near Sara, Sara would flinch away from it. She was scared of that knife for some reason.
"It's been dipped in silver water. It's poisonous for werewolves." Sara said.
"It's alright Sara. She wants me. Not you." I said.
"If I have to, I will kill the both of you. She means nothing to me and we hate her pack as much as yours." The witch said.
"Well, that's where you're wrong. They're both my pack." I said. And she looked at me strangely. Like she finally came to a realization.
"You're not just a white wolf. You are the prophecy." She said.
That's when I felt myself starting to lose control. She was using my sister to try and kill me. Well, they did that in Seattle but Sara was on the other side. I'd gotten to know her recently and we'd gotten really close.
She was the only family I actually considered to be my blood family and no one was going to hurt her on my watch. My breathing started getting really heavy and I felt my back brake, causing me to fall to the ground screaming. Then my arms and legs soon followed.
The witch stood there watching in amusement and she raised her hand at me, trying to do something as a flash of red came towards me, but bounced off of some invisible force field that was around me. I didn't know where that was but as she was paying attention to me I could see Sara slowly getting out of her restraints from the tree.
I remember the last time this was happening in the forest when I fled from that party. This pain was so much more intense. And it was something completely different. I was laying on the ground, my bones breaking and I realized that I couldn't move at all. I couldn't get up or do anything. I was just laying there, screaming in pain. Every time I tried to move, I felt another break.
Was this the awakening that everyone kept talking about?
"Just breathe through it." Ava guided me.
"Sara needs me now. I can't be like this." I argued.noveldrama
"There's nothing you can do about it now. It's happening. You need to let it happen." Ava said. But all I could think about was Sara and the twins didn't know we were out here. I couldn't call them. I needed them. I needed their help. But they didn't know where we were.
The witch used this opportunity while I was immobilized to charge at me with the dagger raised up as she was about to plunge it straight into my heart.
But Sara started screaming and ran at her from beside and tackled her away from me. The dagger only managed to leave a deep gash on my arm that was corroded by the silver water.
The witch pushed Sara off and kicked her in the head and she started approaching me again with the dagger raised.
I was still in immense pain with Ava trying to soothe me and tell me that it was all going to be alright, but I didn't see how anything here was going to be alright.
And just before the witch was about to stab me with the dagger two massive black wolves leapt out from the trees and ran towards me while Sara also got up off the ground but she couldn't shift at the moment.
She had to back away from this fight before she got killed. The witch knew that she wasn't going to win this fight now. So she lunged at me one last time and managed to stab me in the side of my abdomen before one of the twins grabbed her by the clothing and threw her away from me.
I let out another final scream, getting everyone's attention and I felt my bones breaking again and rearranging before I leapt up to my feet. I jumped up on all fours with everyone staring at me and I let out a vicious growl at the witch. The gash on my arm and the stab wound on my side were gone. Even though the dagger was coated in silver water, the wounds were completely gone. And I had my eyes fixed on the witch right in front of me.
I had to concentrate to stay on all fours. It was a weird feeling for me at first. I wasn't even sure I could walk like this. But I dug my claws into the dirt and it made me feel free and finally I was what I was meant to be. I know that now. I felt like I belonged here. The twins by my side and I was a wolf that felt free in the forest and powerful. More powerful than I had ever felt before in my life.
The twins couldn't take their eyes off of me but I couldn't take my eyes off of the witch.
With every ounce of anger that I had in my body I looked over at Sara who was still covered in blood and I looked back at the witch as I lunged straight at her and I wrapped my mouth around her neck, biting through it with one bite and killing her instantly.
I let her body drop to the ground and I stood over her and howled up towards the moon.
I turned around and the two black wolves walked over to me and they both rubbed their heads against me.
"Can you hear me?" Nathan asked, in my mind.
"How are you doing that?" I asked, confused.
"It's mind linking. We can communicate while in wolf form." He said.
"You are absolutely beautiful." Tristan said.
"How do you feel?" Nathan asked.
"Powerful. I can feel the forest." I said. And Nathan rubbed his head around mine again.
"Yeah That's what it does." He said. They led me to a river nearby and I looked over the edge at my reflection and I saw a white wolf staring back at me with almost ice blue eyes.
"You are beautiful." Nathan said.
What do you think?
