Upon receiving the orders, the person outside rushed in and released her.

“What’s going to happen now?” Furiously, Linda ripped the tape from her lips, massaged her wrists where the bindings had chafed, and fixed a fierce gaze on the individual before her. “Do you realize who I am? The Flynn family will not tolerate this treatment of me!”

The captor regarded her with a serene expression. “Relax. You’re not in any danger. Just remain here for a bit longer, and you’ll be free to go.”

With those words, he departed.

She would be free soon? Was it safe to believe them?

Linda hadn’t been given many details, but she pieced together that they might be connected to the Scott family, known collaborators with certain factions in Storia.

Why had they taken her? Was this to leverage against Eric? She couldn’t let him suffer because of her!

Linda scanned her environment. She was in a plain, budget hotel room.

Rising, she approached the window for a better view. Luckily, she was only on the second story.

Quickly, Linda pulled the sheets from the bed and knotted them together. She then dragged the bed closer to the window.

Securing one end of the makeshift rope to the bedpost, she flung the other end out the window.

Taking a moment to gather her courage, Linda climbed through the window and carefully descended using the sheet rope.

As she neared the ground, she realized the sheets didn’t quite reach.

With a grimace, Linda braced herself and leapt.

Upon hitting the ground, her kneecap bore the brunt of the impact, sending a wave of pain that caused stars to burst across her vision. Ignoring the pain, she scrambled to her feet and dashed away frantically.

Her pursuers realized she had leaped from the window and gave chase.

After dashing out of the budget hotel onto the main street, Linda felt the urgent need to find a vehicle to escape.

Spotting an approaching car, she dashed toward it, waving her arms. “Please, stop!”

However, the car was traveling too quickly, and the driver, caught off guard by her sudden appearance, couldn’t stop in time.

In a desperate maneuver, the driver swerved, but the car still clipped Linda’s side, sending her sprawling!

With a piercing cry, Linda felt the impact lift her from the ground and fling her into the air.

The road was suddenly blocked by the arrival of the pursuers. The car stopped, and its door swung open, revealing Eric as he stepped out.

The presence of Eric caused Ferris’ men to falter. “Sir…”

It didn’t take long for Eric to grasp the situation, his eyes darting sharply across the group. “Where is she?”
