Chapter 1440
Mia clamped her mouth shut in an instant. She was all dolled up today-heck, she could barely recognize herself in the mirror, so how could anyone else think she looked cute?
High above, in the VIP section, Andre looked down over the crowd, a sea of faces shifting and moving below. His eyes tracked that familiar little head—the one that always used his arm for a pillow during afternoon naps as she made her way through the throng and slid into an empty seat.
It didn't take long before every spot around her filled up. She was like the sun, everyone orbiting closer.
Mia glanced around, a puzzled look on her face. "Molly, I swear, my back feels chilly."
Molly did a quick scan of their section, even stretched out her hand to check if the air conditioning was blasting on them. "Maybe your outfit's just too light, Mia?"
Right then, a fan behind them piped up, "Hey, is your real name really 'Where'?" He'd overheard Molly's nickname and couldn't help himself.
Jade, sitting nearby, felt a pang of envy. How come nobody got curious when they called her "Molly" earlier?
Mia turned around and grinned at the guy. "Yeah, my family calls me 'Where' all the time." What she didn't say was that her family secretly called her husband "Real Fish."
From then on, everyone remembered: her real name was "Where."
Another voice popped up, full of curiosity. "So, why didn't you come these past two years? All your old crew are already gunning for the Black Pass."noveldrama
Back then, people had even made private bets on her. She was the one to watch, the wild card. But after one dramatic exit, she just disappeared.
Up in the box, Andre made his appearance. People instinctively stepped back, falling in line behind him, waiting for his word.
Noah clocked it too. "Boss, Mia's pretty popular at The Silent Ring tonight."
For propriety's sake, everyone just called her "Auntie" in public-not "Mrs." Never "Mrs."
Behind Andre, his Silent Ring crew could barely hide their excitement. "Auntie's back. Looks like things are gonna get interesting this year."
Noah glanced at the staff, wondering how they'd missed their boss's face turning stormy.
Someone else chimed in, "Last time she bailed-if she'd stayed, she would've leveled up for sure."
Andre took a deep breath, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
Noah looked over, then said, "Boss is going up tonight too. That's gotta be worth watching, right?"
Everyone froze. "Wait, what?" The
boss himself was getting in on the action? No one had ever seen that before. Was he just looking to shake the rust off? But who could possibly be his opponent?
All eyes were glued to Andre's back, but he only had eyes for the woman sitting among the crowd below.
Mia chuckled, "Nope, I didn't get caught, and the boss at The Silent Ring didn't come after me. It was all me. Went home, had a baby. Now the kid's over two and doesn't need me every second, so here Lam."
The people around her stared, wide-eyed. "You went home to have a baby?"
Mia nodded. "Yep. Had a kid." She jabbed a thumb at her best friend. "So did she."
Molly grinned like she'd just won a gold medal. "Sorry, didn't mean to blow everyone's minds.”
The crowd erupted with whispers and wild guesses. They'd considered every possibility-except that these two had just been busy being moms.
Down below, the chatter swelled and soon reached the ears of Andre's staff upstairs. “Wait, Auntie got married and had a kid?" One of them looked totally stunned.
Noah cast a sideways glance at the boss, who looked a little less tense now, hiding a private smile. Maybe every man needs a kid to feel
