Chapter 110: Awake
Chapter 110: Awake
Jasmine's POV
After that day, my team kept visiting here in the hospital so they could accompany me when they had free time and play with my son.
"Uncle Jacob got the ball from Uncle Kurt!" David shouted. They were playing here inside the room. Since this is also a big room, they can play whenever they want. "Yes, sir!" Jacob ran while David kept on laughing. Kurt gets the ball while Jacob is trying to get it from him.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
They were running inside the room. Jacob snatched the ball from Kurt, and he immediately gave it to my son. He ran so fast because Kurt would get the ball from him.
"I'm happy you visited again. My son really wants to play with them. He's been asking me when you guys will visit again." I chuckled while looking at them playing.
"Ma'am Jaz, I don't know how you would be able to surpass all of the struggles in your life. If I were in your situation, maybe I would have decided to abort the child," Erica said. Rhian looked at her with disbelief. Some would use that as a possible way to escape from all of the pain, but I never think of getting an abortion.
"I would rather face all the humiliation and mockery than abort my own flesh," Rhian said, which made me agree with her.
"Even in the most challenging moments, I didn't think of doing that. I've been dreaming of having a kid with Travis that day, but then I think he had no intention or plan of building a family with me until that day happened." He went home looking for me. I didn't know what came into his mind when he did that.
I thought the Travis that I loved before suddenly came back. I thought everything would get better. We would fix what he had left.
I thought we did that with love, but maybe it was just me who was dreaming about having kids with him and building a happy family.
"Your son really looks like him, ma'am. If he sees David, I'm sure he would literally think that David is his son," Rhian said while staring at my son.
I sigh. That's the thing that I don't want to happen, ever.
"That's why I don't want to bring him to the workplace because of what you said. I don't want that to happen. Travis didn't deserve to meet David. Our life is great even without him," I told them, which made them look at me.
What I said is true. We continue to live peacefully without him. We don't need him, and I don't need him.
"But what if one day, when David grows up, he wants to find his real father?" Erica told me. I wasn't ready for that day. Even right now, I can't be ready.
I'm scared that one day, he will find out the truth. Yes, he was chasing me, and he kept on doing that, but what if he got mad when he found out that he had a son and couldn't accept David? No. I won't let that happen. I won't let him know he has a son. I don't know how to answer her question.
"Mommy!" my son shouted, which made me look at him standing right by Diego's side, looking at his hand.
I stood up. He's smiling broadly.
"What is it, baby?" I asked him as I caressed his hair. He pointed at Diego's finger, which confused me.
"I saw Daddy uncle's finger move," he said. Everyone here in the room waited for Diego's finger to move, but it didn't happen.
I made my son face me. It's impossible for him to be conscious, the doctor told me. We have to wait for weeks, months or even years.
When the doctor told me about it, I didn't know how to react. I couldn't accept it, but it had already happened.
"Baby, Daddy is still sleeping. The doctor said-" I was about to tell him about it when he pointed again at Diego's finger.
"It's moving!" He shouted, which made me turn around immediately. He was right. We both went to his side.
"Diego," I uttered. My tears started falling from my cheeks.
I heard Jacob say, "I'll call a doctor, " and then I heard the door open.
"Thank God. "I kept on crying together with my son.
"Daddy Uncle!" David held his hand when Diego slowly opened his eyes.
"Sir Diego"
"Thank God"
"He's awake."
"Sir Diego"
They kept on saying he slowly looked at us and smiled. I couldn't control myself and hugged him.
"I'm so happy," I uttered. I heard him chuckle. When the door opened, I immediately separated my hug from him.
Jacob and the doctor came in. The doctor started examining Diego. I wiped my tears, but I couldn't describe how happy I was.
"It's a miracle that Mr. Diego woke up." He started. He also runs some tests and discusses his situation.
"He will stay here in the hospital
the meantime for another examination. After that, we could discharge him. He had a fast
recovery. " He said.
He continued talking while my son went to David and hugged him while he was crying.
After the doctor's words, he left. I turned to David and Diego.
"Daddy!" David kept on crying. I am thankful that he didn't lose his memories after what happened to him. Few survived the plane crash, and Diego was one of them. Unfortunately, the rest died.
"Stop crying now," Diego said in his husky voice. I bit my lower lips, seeing how much my son missed Diego.
"Daddy Uncle, don't make us
worried again, okay? Mom couldn't
sleep at night. She's always crying," he said while sobbing. Diego looked at me, which made me immediately wipe my tears.
I'm so happy that he woke up.
"I'm sorry for worrying you both. I promise it won't happen again," he said to my son and messed up his hair.
