Whispers Turn

CHAPTER 445

Chapter 445

“Whoa,” Gilbert exclaimed, surprised, “What’s got our lovely Jenna all upset? Tell me, and I’ll make it right, okay?”

“Look.”

Jenna didn’t hold back. She bowed her head, lifted her little arms, and pointed to her hair, “I had a Minnie Mouse clip on each side, and now there’s only one left. The other one has gone missing.”

What? It took Gilbert a moment to understand.

Jenna was talking about her hair clip. She used to wear one on each side of her hair, and now only the left one remained.

A Minnie Mouse clip? Gilbert thought, the little one really likes Minnie Mouse.

Following her tone, Gilbert sympathetically said, “That’s a real shame.”

“Exactly.”

Jenna pouted unhappily, “Jenna and Sophia looked everywhere for it and couldn’t find it. It’s so naughty!”

“Mhm.” Gilbert nodded, barely holding back a chuckle. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Jenna…”

That’s when Sophia finally chimed in.

She gave Gilbert several glances. She remembered him from the last time they met at the park near their house.

It seemed Jenna really knew him? And apparently, Jenna liked him a lot.

To be honest, the man looked quite handsome and wealthy, not the kind to be bad news.

But it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Sophia still pulled Jenna close and gave Gilbert a stiff smile, “I’m sorry, sir. Kids can be a handful. Hope we didn’t bother you.”

“Not at all.” Gilbert smiled softly, shaking his head, “Jenna is adorable.”

Isn’t that the truth?

Sophia, holding Jenna, said, “Then we’ll be on our way.”

Without waiting for Gilbert to say anything more, they turned to leave.

While walking away, Sophia whispered to Jenna, “Where did you meet this him?”

“At the hospital.”

“Oh boy.”

Sophia sighed internally, realizing they were hospital acquaintances, and reminded her, “From now on, don’t go running off without telling Sophia, okay? Your tummy might hurt.”

“Okay.”

Jenna laid her head on Sophia’s shoulder, “Sophia, what about the missing Minnie? Aren’t we going to look for it?”

“If we can’t find it, we’ll just let it be,” Sophia consoled her. “We can always buy a new one from the store another day, okay?”

“…Okay.” Jenna seemed to consider it, not entirely against the idea,

Suddenly, as if remembering something, she looked up towards Gilbert’s direction, waving her short arms, “Bye–bye, sir!”

Gilbert, still standing there, couldn’t help but laugh, “Bye–bye.”

Sophia pulled her along, laughing and crying at the same time. “You’re too friendly with a stranger whose last name you don’t even know! Let’s go!”

With that, they hastened their steps.

Gilbert smiled softly, turning to head to the parking lot.

“Back already?” Sherilyn opened the car door for him, “That was quick.”

“Yeah, the pharmacy had everything ready.”

As they got in the car, Gilbert casually tossed the medicine into the back seat and started

the car.

Sherilyn couldn’t help but notice, even if it was just a short trip to the pharmacy, he seemed in a good mood?

What good thing could have happened in such a short time?

She was curious but didn’t ask; it wasn’t like she had to know.

Leaving the hospital and passing by TeeMall, they made another stop, this time for Sylvia.

The elderly lady had a necklace that needed repairing, and Gilbert was to pick it up for her. Gilbert turned to Sherilyn, “Want to come? You might find something you like?”

“No, thanks.”

Sherilyn naturally refused. The watch she was wearing was still feeling new to her; she wasn’t about to accept more gifts.

Waving her hand, she said, “You go ahead, make it quick.”

“You’re not greedy. I’ll give you that.”

Gilbert teased, tapping her nose. How many women out there don’t fancy jewelry? Sherilyn was one in a million.
