Chapter 755
Holding Sherilyn close, Gilbert felt as though nothing else mattered. He envisioned a future with his own family, his own home. The heaviness that had weighed down his heart finally lifted, returning to its rightful place in his chest.
"Sherilyn..." His voice mingled with the sound of Sherilyn's phone ringing.
"Phone."
Sherilyn glanced at the caller ID, gently extricating herself from his embrace to stand up. "I'll take this outside."
"Okay."NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Gilbert nodded, assuming it was a call from the production team and didn't give it much thought.
But he was mistaken. It wasn't the production team; it was the hospital lab. The results for the compatibility test must be in.
"Hello?" Sherilyn stepped out of the room, her heart pounding, holding her breath. "This is Sherilyn."
"The compatibility results are in. You're a match."
Sherilyn's heart skipped a beat, a wave of emotion welling up so quickly it blurred her vision.
"Is this...?"
She was too overwhelmed to complete her sentence. The doctor on the other end, understanding her emotional state, spoke with a hint of a smile.
"It's true, genuinely good news. Your child... there's hope now."
Sherilyn covered her mouth, afraid she might let out a cry. Choking back tears, she managed, "Th-thank you."
"No need for thanks. You should be grateful to the gentleman who matched. For specifics, you should talk to Dr. Neil."
"Alright."
Hanging up the phone, Sherilyn clutched it tightly, her hands trembling slightly. Initially, she hadn't dared to hope too much. After all, even she and Gilbert couldn't match for Jenna! And Galen was only Jenna's uncle! But against all odds, they were a match!
This was the best news imaginable! Jenna had a chance now!
But then, there was Galen...
With trembling hands, Sherilyn dialed his number.
"Sis."
Galen knew the results were due today and answered quickly, immediately asking, "Did the results come in?"
"Y-yes." Sherilyn's feelings were complex as she addressed her brother.
"How did it go?" Galen's voice was urgent, "Did it work?"
"Yes." Sherilyn spoke slowly, clearly enunciating.
"It did?! Really? That's incredible! Sis, you're going to be okay! I can save you! You're going to live, healthy and safe!" Listening to his voice, Sherilyn felt a wave of emotion, her eyes welling up.
"Sis?"
Not hearing her response, Galen asked, "Are you there? Can you hear me?"
"I'm here." Sherilyn's voice was thick with emotion, "Galen, thank you." "Why are you saying that again?"
Galen sounded displeased, but his words were laced with undeniable joy. "A Brother's supposed to look after his sister, right? Anyway.."

He paused for a moment, then asked, "So when do we head to the hospital? Should we schedule the surgery as soon as possible2
Sherilyn composed herself, "I need to speak to the doctor first, see how we should proceed. Can you wait for my call?"
"Of course! Isn't that obvious?"
Galen didn't hesitate, "Then I'll wait for your signal!"
"Okay."
Before hanging up, Galen added with a laugh, "Cheer up, sis. You're still so young, with your whole life ahead of you. The hard times are behind us. From here on out, it's nothing but good days."
