Chapter 21
Vincent slumped on the couch in the private room of Nightfall Bar, looking worn out.
Ruby got into a car accident because of him, and for the FitzGerald and Turner family’s reputation, he had to take good care of Ruby.
Rubbing his brow, Vincent was not in the best of moods.
“Mr. Gladstone is here.”
“Vincent, your brother–in–law has arrived,” his buddies said with a laugh.
Caleb entered the room and frowned at Vincent. “Everybody out.”
Vincent’s pals exchanged glances, sensing some FitzGerald family drama, and they stepped outside to guard the door.
“Caleb, what brings you to me?” Vincent leaned back, lighting a smoke with a lazy vibe.
Caleb’s frown deepened, his knuckles turning white as he clenched his fists. “The Gladstone family ran into a hiccup with a project in the eastern suburbs and needs the FitzGerald family to, um, have a chat with Mr. Bryce from Aurora Tech.”
Caleb’s parents, having heard about Caleb’s tiff with Vincent, pressured Caleb to apologize, as the matter was crucial for the future and prospects of the Gladstone Group.
“Oh? What’s that to me? You came to me for help?” Vincent’s tone was icy, remembering the guy from that night at the hotel who made him sick and wishing to take him down.
Caleb was such a mama’s boy, always listening to his mother. Vincent couldn’t fathom what Kristin and his sister saw in him!
“Vincent, if you don’t want to help, you could at least stop with the snide remarks,” Caleb interjected, his brows knitted.
“That’s how you ask for a favor?” Vincent chuckled, taking a deep drag. “The only one in the FitzGerald family who can get a word with Mr. Bryce is my brother Rhett. Why don’t you beg him?”
Vincent’s voice dripped with sarcasm.
Caleb was a wimp. He didn’t have the guts to beg Rhett because Rhett didn’t care about
anyone.
And he certainly wouldn’t bother with the Gladstone family’s affairs.
“Vincent, what do you want?” Caleb asked, hands clenched. He couldn’t go begging Eve.
“Go kneel and apologize to my sister. Swear you’ll never make her sad again, and maybe I’ll help you,” Vincent flicked the ash from his cigarette.
“Boss, that woman you had us watch sneaked off to the Gladstone family. It looks like she’s
searching for Caleb,” the assistant entered the room, reporting.
Vincent’s face darkened instantly, his foot smashing onto the coffee table.
Kristin! Isn’t that something?
Just one day after Vincent cut her loose, and she’s already itching for a rendezvous with Caleb!
Talk about moving on quickly.
Caleb was stunned, glaring at Vincent. “You’re stalking Kristin?”
Was Kristin looking for him?
With a surge of joy in his chest, Caleb turned to leave, eager to see Kristin.
“Caleb, are you trying to make the Gladstone family fall apart because of you?” Vincent’s voice was icy, thick with threat.
Caleb froze mid–step, turning back to Vincent. “What are you planning to do to her?”
“Boss, I’ve got her,” the assistant boasted to Vincent.
Vincent frowned. “Where is she? Bring her in.”
The room door swung open, and Kristin was shoved inside, tumbling to the floor.
Crouching down, Kristin looked up at Caleb.
She wanted to ask Caleb to take a paternity test with Summer.
Summer’s condition requires a medical examination in cooperation with her biological father.
“Kristin, you’re something.” Vincent stood up, grabbing Kristin’s chin. “Can’t live without a man? You ran to your lover just like that, huh?”
“Vincent, don’t go too far.” Caleb tried to intervene.
“Caleb! Remember, you’re here to ask for my help!” Vincent glared at Caleb, his rage making him lose control.
He had loved Kristin for many years and treasured her like a gem.*
From high school to junior year of college, he placed Kristin on a pedestal.
But Kristin? She slept with Caleb behind his back and even had his child! How is Vincent supposed to save face now?
Those rich kids only refrained from mocking him openly out of respect for Rhett. And Vincent knew how they laughed behind his back!
His girl cheated and had another man’s bastard.
Kristin outdid herself!
“Kristin, what do you see in him?” Vincent wanted to know what Kristin saw in Caleb. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

In what way was he inferior to Caleb?
“Do you think he can protect you? He can’t even save his family. How’s he going to protect you?” Vincent shouted. “Everyone, get in here!”
He was going to show Kristin that a man like Caleb was useless.
Caleb couldn’t protect her. It was time she got that through her head!
Kristin looked at Vincent in terror. He was losing it. He was going crazy again.
Wasn’t it enough that he lured her over on Ruby’s birthday to humiliate her?
“Boss, who’s this chick?” Several guys walked in, eyeing Kristin with interest.
“Not bad–looking, but too skinny.”
“Isn’t that… Kristin! Boss, that shameless woman…”
“She’s out of jail?”
Kristin was infamous in Silvergrove City.
Once known for her beauty and talent, she was infamous for being shameless and a fake heiress.
“Man, I’ve heard this chick sleeps around, and she’s even into popping out kids for random guys?” someone teased with a snicker, their words flirty and provocative.
“Vincent, don’t be such a jerk,” Caleb tried to intervene.
But that only fanned the flames for Vincent.
“You all love fucking around, right? Well, go ahead. Have a blast, and do whatever you want. She’s the type that can’t live without a man, so let’s give Mr. Gladstone a good show here.” Vincent’s lips curled into a smirk, looking like the devil incarnate.
