Chapter 74 Jealousy
“Waah…” Jessy cried when she saw Samuel losing his temper. “Julian exposed my personal details to everyone and even said that I had three abortions. How am I supposed to meet people and get married in the future?”
Christopher went along with Jessy’s words. “Jessy is still young and insensible. She might have said something wrong in a moment of carelessness. Julian is already an adult, yet he still wants to make a fuss with Jessy. As Parks Group’s heir-to-be, isn’t that petty of him?
“Samuel, do you really think Julian is suitable to be Parks Group’s successor?
“If a client offends Julian in the future, will they not be spared as well?
“When had the business people not been scheming against each other? When had there not been a need to feign civility? Who wouldn’t be chasing after benefits?
“With Julian’s style of doing things, will he be taking revenge on anyone who dares to threaten Parks Group’s interests in the future? All of our customers will only be offended if that is the case. How is the Parks Group going to develop?”
Julian looked at Christopher in amusement. “Do you mean to say not speak up when you’re scolded and not retaliate when you’re beaten up? If Parks Group’s successor should not be hot-blooded or wolfish, is he supposed to be a useless idiot instead?”
Albert and Christopher were speechless.
Cassandra remarked, “Well said!”
Her eyes sparkled as she supported Julian. “Julian is right. We come from a well-known business family. We do business to earn money, not to practice Buddhism to save all living beings. If one’s kind, I return the favor. If one harms me, I fight back with no words needed. The Parks can afford to fight!”
“Cassandra, Jessy is still a child. There’s no need for her to be exposed like this,” Christopher retorted.
Julian replied bluntly, “My wife Annalise is two years younger than Jessy.”
Christopher was dumbstruck.
He could not find anything to say in response.
He frowned, “Remove those negative things immediately.”
When Jessy noticed Samuel had given in, she was filled with anger and kept on crying. “So what if it’s withdrawn? Can my reputation be repaired? What will the teachers and peers think of me when I go back to school? I will have to say that it’s a mistake. It’s Jessy Parks with the exact same name and not the daughter. of the Parks family, Jessy Parks.”
“How do you plan to restore my wife’s reputation then?” Julian sneered at Jessy. His gaze was indifferent and sharp, having no intention of giving in.
“You!” Jessy was furious as she bawled. “Samuel, I don’t want to live anymore. I can’t live like this.”
With that, she held a fork to her neck, “I’ll stab myself to death now.”
“Should I call Annalise over and get her to threaten back with a fork against her neck too? You feel as though you can no longer live after being cyberbullied. Yet, have you ever thought of how others are humans who will get hurt as well when you spread rumors and cause trouble?” Julian stared at Jessy coldly and continued, “If you want me to clear your name, restore Annalise’s reputation first. Otherwise, we can drag this on.”
With that, he walked towards Annalise’s table.
Exasperated, Jessy threw the fork and wailed. “Samuel, I was wrong. I won’t badmouth or spread rumors about anyone again. I didn’t do it on purpose. It was just a slip of the tongue. Besides, Annalise did have at boyfriend whom she had dated for a long time before meeting Julian. It’s normal for them to have lived together. So, please persuade Julian to let me off. After all, I’m his biological cousin.”
Samuel paled. “Apologize to Annalise publicly and promise that you will not commit again. Otherwise, leave and stay at the company overseas once you graduate.”
Christopher raged. “Julian messes around, and you want a fair share too?”
Cassandra retorted, “An eye for an eye, genuine temperament. How is this messing around? Julian is looking
at the big picture. If anyone hurts my granddaughter-in-law like this, I will beat them until they shit.” Christopher remained in silence.
Jessy kept quiet.
She stomped her feet in anger and gritted her teeth in hatred. She knew she had to apologize to Annalise publicly.
Having no choice, she walked towards the stage. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
On the other side.
The Jones family had finished their banquet and was about to leave when Alan came over to talk to Annalise. “Mrs. Parks, I’m Alan Jones from the Jones family. I have a few words to speak to you in private. Is that convenient for you?”
Annalise observed the righteous expression on Alan’s face. He was, after all, the one who hired a private doctor to appraise the Energizing Pill.
Logically speaking, she should thank him for that. Hence, she nodded and walked to the side with Alan.
She smiled softly. “Thank you for helping me appraise the pill back then.”
Alan replied immediately. “You’re welcome. It’s my duty. I should thank you for treating my grandfather and saving his life.”
Annalise wondered. He might be the grandson of the old man she had saved some time ago. She responded with a smile, “Please keep this a secret for me, Mr. Jones.”
“Sure thing.”
Their gazes remained upon each other as they smiled.
As Julian came over, he witnessed this interaction between Alan and Annalise.
It was a glaring sight for him.
He would not even smile at any other woman, yet she still smiled at another man outrightly, even in such a beautiful manner.
His mood sank instantly as if something was weighing down on his heart, suffocating him.
He headed towards them and immediately held Annalise’s hand to declare his dominion in silence. He then asked Alan indifferently, “Mr. Jones, what are you talking about with my wife?”
“I just want to ask about the pill…”
Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted by Julian. “My wife had already said that she just happened to help an old man on the way. The pill was a gift from him. That’s it. We still have guests to greet Please help yourself, Mr. Jones.”
With that, he left, with Annalise tugged along.
He walked in the direction of the residence quickly.
“Is the banquet over?” Annalise asked.
“Yes, it’s over!” Julian said.
Even if it was not over, there was no need for them to be the ones greeting the guests.
There were so many butlers and servants at home, and Samuel was there to oversee it personally. It would not matter if he was not around.
He did not want to think about anything else at this moment. He just wanted to take her to a place where no one else was. He did not want any other man to covet her beauty. Neither did he want to see her smiling at
any.
He led Annalise back to the villa.
With his hand still holding onto Annalise, he returned to his room upon reaching the second floor. No longer able to contain his jealousy, he asked, “What were you and Alan talking about just now?”
Realizing that he was being a little interrogative, he looked at her passionately as he explained, “I… I’m sorry. Annie, I like you!”
As he spoke, he tilted his head down and kissed her lips.
He told himself that he could be jealous, depressed, or moody, but Annalise was still an individual. How could he restrict her from interacting with others? How could he act in such an interrogative manner?
Love was about respect, giving, and trust…
His kiss instantly became gentle.
The atmosphere surrounding him warmed up as well.
She was too beautiful at this moment. With a long dress donned along with some light makeup, she was even blushing shyly.
His kiss gradually became more passionate…
