Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now

Chapter 906

Chapter 906:

“These are all top-notch,” Melba said, inspecting one of the items.

These were clearly a cut above.

“It’s way too much,” she added, frowning. “There are only three of us. We can’t possibly use all this.”

“Then let’s keep what we need and give the rest away,” Hadley suggested. “Take some for your family, Melba.”

“Are you sure? I’d feel guilty…”

“No need,” Hadley said with a smile. “It’d be a waste otherwise.”

“Well, in that case, I won’t hold back. Thank you, Hadley.”

“You’re welcome.”

Hadley made a mental note to bring some things to Elissa, who’d be spending the holidays alone. Maybe she could invite her over to celebrate together.

Back at Flynn Mansion, Eric arrived and went straight upstairs. He knocked on a door. “Ernest? You in there? I’m coming in.”

Frowning, Eric opened the door. The room was empty—Ernest was nowhere to be found.

After a series of rainy and snowy days, the skies finally cleared one morning, bringing a refreshing change from the gloomy weather. Elissa had just finished her breakfast and was lounging in a chair by the window, looking outside—although she still couldn’t see.

With the festive season of Christmas approaching, the usually quiet sanatorium seemed even more deserted.

However, today, there was a flurry of activity in the courtyard, accompanied by distant sounds of laughter.

“Miss Holland,” the caregiver called out as she handed Elissa a glass of water. “Please drink some water.”

“Thank you,” Elissa replied, taking the glass. She then asked, “What’s going on in the courtyard? It seems quite lively.”

“Someone is out there flying kites. The weather is nice today.” The caregiver glanced at the sunshine outside and suggested, “Miss Holland, would you like to go outside for a bit of fresh air?”

Elissa had been confined indoors since her last accident in the water. This was a good opportunity for her to enjoy the outdoors.

“Are you sure that’s okay?” Elissa asked hesitantly, concerned about causing any inconvenience. “I don’t want to be any trouble.”

“It’s all good,” the caregiver assured her with a smile. “We’ll stay right in the courtyard, nice and close. I’ll be right by your side the whole time, so no worries!”

Elissa chuckled. “Alright then.”

“Let’s go!”

As they stepped outside, the sound of laughter intensified.

Elissa smiled. “It sounds like there are quite a lot of people out here.”

“Yes,” the caregiver confirmed. “Our courtyard is large, so people from other sections have come over, along with their caregivers. There are also some medical staff.”

“It’s so lively.” Elissa smiled faintly.
