Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now

Chapter 875

Chapter 875:

Hadley was in the kitchen, baking the fruit pie—Joy had wanted to share it with Tyler when she woke up.

Her phone buzzed. A message from Eric. “How’s Joy doing?”

Hadley typed back, “She’s doing well. No fever right now.”

After a pause, she went into Joy’s room, picked up her phone, and recorded a short video before sending it to Eric as well.

Eric opened it. Joy was fast asleep, her arms raised above her head in a pose like she had surrendered. Her chubby cheeks puffed up, her little mouth in a pout.

“She’s too cute,” he murmured, smiling as he saved the clip.

Just then, his work phone rang. He answered.

It was the executive VP of East Entertainment Media who was calling. “What is it?”

“Mr. Flynn,” the man’s voice sounded rushed, “we can’t reach Miss Harris. Any idea where she is?”

Eric blinked. “Linda? What do you mean you can’t reach her?”

He’d been focused on Hadley and Joy lately—he hadn’t kept track of Linda’s schedule.

“She’s doing that variety show, isn’t she? Did you check the TV station?”

“They called me, actually,” the VP replied. “The show’s in production and about to begin its recording, but she’s vanished. No contact.”

Eric frowned. “Then find her. Why are you calling me?”

“We’ve tried. Her manager and assistant don’t know where she is. Her phone’s off, and she’s not home. Mr. Flynn, we’re out of options.”

Eric sighed and rubbed his temples. “Got it. I’ll look into it.”

“Thank you!”noveldrama

Eric hung up and immediately dialed Ernest. “Do you know where Linda went?”

He suspected another fight had pushed Linda to retreat somewhere. But Ernest was equally clueless about her disappearance. “She’s missing?”

Eric was incredulous. “She’s your fiancée. And you’re asking me?”

Ernest gave a weary sigh. “I know. I’ll take care of it.”

He hung up and called Quentin. “Track down Linda’s whereabouts.”

“Yes, sir.”

Quentin worked fast and came back with the report. “Mr. Flynn, Miss Harris flew to Storia.”

At the same time, a message from Linda popped up on Ernest’s phone. “Ernest, I don’t know how things spiraled like this. I admit I was harsh before—and I shouldn’t have taken it out on Locke—but have you ever stopped to consider how this feels for me? One day, my partner suddenly has a child with another woman… what am I supposed to do with that? Maybe you’re right. I can’t accept it. Let’s break up. Don’t look for me. I need some space.”

Eric called again. “Any news?”

“Yes.” Ernest forwarded the message.

Eric read it in silence. “So… what now?” Was this really the end?

Ernest exhaled slowly. “What can I do? It’s always been her decision—whether to move forward or end it.”

Marriage had been her call. Now, so was their breakup.
