Chapter 756
Chapter 756:
Who could it have been?noveldrama
A wrong number? A prank? Or perhaps just a random advertisement?
Hadley had a gut feeling—it was none of those.
“Hadley!”
Eric had pulled up, parking the car at the curb. He dashed over, taking her hand and saying, “Come on.”
At the car, Eric opened the door for her.
But Hadley hesitated. Gripping his arm, she said, “Hold on a sec.”
“What’s the matter?” he asked.
She didn’t reply. Instead, she clutched his arm with one hand while peeling off her right shoe with the other.
Only then did Eric notice her soaked sneaker. “What happened? Did you slip?”
“No,” Hadley replied, shaking her head. “I just wasn’t paying attention and misstepped.”
After taking the soaked shoe from her, Eric assisted her in getting into the vehicle.
Sebastian was at the wheel today.
Hadley reflexively drew back as Eric reached for her foot. “What are you doing?”
“What do you think?” Eric laughed. “Removing your sock. Your shoe’s soaked—do you really think your sock is still dry?”
“I know.” Hadley felt a flush of embarrassment and glanced at Sebastian. “I can handle it myself.”

“Don’t move.”
Eric wasn’t about to let her go. He firmly grasped her ankle and swiftly pulled off her sock.
“What’s the big deal? It’s not like this is the first time.”
“Hey!” Hadley’s cheeks burned. “Watch your words!”
Eric paused, suddenly realizing why she was upset—she was feeling shy. He smirked. “Alright, I won’t say a word.”
Hadley tried to retract her foot.
“Don’t move!” Eric insisted, a slight frown creasing his brow. “Your foot is freezing. Is this how a human foot should feel? You didn’t just step in a puddle—you took an ice bath.”
“You’re exaggerating,” Hadley muttered, frowning.
“Women always seem to have colder feet. Mine are like this too—no matter how much I try to warm them, it never works.”
“Really?” Eric glanced at her other foot. “So you’re saying that one is just as bad?”
“Pretty much,” Hadley admitted, even though that foot hadn’t seen the icy water. “It’s a bit better.”
“Let me see!”
Before Hadley could protest, he bent down, seized her other foot, and effortlessly removed her shoe and sock.
Hadley bit her lip, her cheeks aflame. “What’s there to see?”
“It really is just as cold.”
Eric enveloped her foot in his warm palm. She felt a ticklish sensation and instinctively recoiled.
