Heiress’s Return 297
Shakira waited for her to finish taking pictures and answered casually, "It's alright. How about you?"
Xanthe shook her head. "Not too well. That girl Fiona seems familiar to me."

Shakira raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to say more. But then Xanthe nearly jumped when a new message appeared on her phone.
"What the heck? Has the Nelson family gone crazy? They're actually starting a company for Yvette under such circumstances?" Xanthe exclaimed.

Shakira's eyes flashed with a hidden gleam. When she heard Xanthe's words, she also unlocked her phone. Sure enough, she saw the messages from Berry and the others in the class group. It wasn't really a chat, more like showing off. Kylie Stanton @Yvette: [Yvette, how are you doing? I heard you were hospitalized and thought it was just a rumor, but then someone from Lopez Group said you didn't show up for the internship.]
Berry: [Yvette is out of the hospital and will recover soon. Besides, it doesn't really matter if she interns in the Lopez Group or not. Her family is starting a new company for her. Being her own boss is so much better.]
Lindsey Acosta: [What? Another company? Didn't Yvette already have an entertainment company?]
Berry: [Yvette's parents are preparing her to take over. One company isn't enough. This time company focused on beauty and skincare products.]
Andy Calderon: [Wow! No wonder she's a rich kid. This is fantastic!"]
Kylie: [Beauty and skincare, huge profits right there!]
Owen Clarke: [Is it too late for me to be reborn into the Nelson family?]

Berry: [Please, the Nelson family has plenty of sons and don't need any more. There's only one precious daughter!"
Xanthe angrily grabbed a chicken wing and took a big bite. "Berry sure likes to suck up to Yvette, acting like she's the one getting all the attention. Ugh, how didn't I notice it before? She's been hiding her true talent as a super ass-kisser!" Shakira put her phone down, already back to her usual self, and began to leisurely enjoy her lunch.
Seeing Xanthe fuming, she couldn't help but tease with a chuckle, "Isn't it possible that she's always wanted to kiss up, but you just never gave her the chance?"
After thinking about it, Xanthe felt relieved and nodded in agreement. "That's exactly right. She gets benefits without even trying to please me. Unlike when she is with Yvette, Berry has to work so hard as an apple polisher!"
Shakira absentmindedly muttered, "But what does Yvette have that's worth all that effort?" Xanthe was too busy being angry to hear her talk to herself about it.
Seeing many classmates coming out to congratulate Yvette with excessive flattery made Xanthe feel nauseated, and she slammed her phone face down.
Xanthe was confused. "What is the Nelson family thinking? Yvette messes up everything. She can't do anything right, yet they still pour money into her, start a company, and plan to make her the heir? Aren't they afraid they'll sink the entire Nelson family?" Shakira wasn't really surprised. After all, in her previous life, when her health was declining and her mind starting to wander, she had heard about Yvette launching a beauty tech company.
At that time, Mitchell was not in any trouble, and he used his resources to promote Yvette into the role of a beauty industry princess through his entertainment company.
Felix took charge of research and development, willingly dedicating his expertise in pharmaceuticals to cosmetic science for his cherished sister.
Yosef even served as Yvette's legal advisor in private, safeguarding her interests.
Finn also helped by instructing Yvette on company management and operations. In addition, Jayden leveraged his connections to establish Yvette's company as the most respected and safest beauty brand nationwide.

Little did she expect that Yvette would become so disreputable, yet the Nelson family was still willing to give everything for her. Xanthe couldn't understand it, but Shakira could vaguely guess the reason.
It was because Cody believed that Yvette brought good luck to the Nelson family; because Rebecca deeply loved and trusted the daughter she had raised; and because everyone in the Nelson family was blind to the truth and chose to ignore reason. If they loved spoiling Yvette so much, then let them. The more they pampered her, the harder she would fall.
Xanthe grumbled under her breath, suddenly remembering something and angrily slamming the table. "No wonder Fiona's vibe felt so familiar. I just realized it." It finally dawned on Xanthe. "She's basically a carbon copy of Yvette." Shakira looked at her.
Xanthe excitedly chattered on, "We just went to the Finance Department to greet everyone, and the man assistant team leader to guide her.
an
"She was so snotty, boasting about her CFO past in Banks Group, saying she wasn't under some assistant's thumb. She even claimed Mr. Lopez wanted her to run the show in Lopez Group..."
Words slipped out of Xanthe's mouth before she realized, and she was slow to catch on. She quickly checked Shakira's expression. "Oh, my big mouth just can't stop talking."
Xanthe was extremely annoyed. "Shakira, don't believe her bragging for a second. How could Mr. Lopez possibly trust a manipulative schemer like her?"
With a calm expression, Shakira reassured, "I didn't believe it."
Xanthe leaned in closer. "Really?"
Shakira looked up, her eyes full of sincerity, "Really."
Xanthe leaned in so close it seemed like she wanted to inspect Shakira's pores just to be sure.
After staring for a long time, Xanthe said sadly, "No. You must be mad. You're lying to me."
Shakira didn't know what to say. She thought, 'Alright, fine, whatever you say!'
After being "stimulated" twice in a row, Xanthe couldn't concentrate on her meal at all. As soon as she parted ways with Shakira, she quickly took out her phone to find Walter and knelt in apology. While Xanthe was frantically typing messages to Walter, Sean was equally frantically messaging Xanthe: [Hey, it's been days. Can you reply to me?]
[Even a punctuation mark would do as a reply!]
[I apologize. You're the bigger person here. I was wrong, okay? Tonight's blind date is with my childhood crush. If you don't come, I'm pretty sure this one is going to be a done deal!] [My queen, can you please save my life?]
'Morals? Dignity? When you're backed into a corner with no way out, like me, you just let it all go!' thought Sean.
Little did he know that Xanthe had set his messages to silent and pinned a bunch of other chats, which effectively pushed him down. So no matter how much he texted, she wouldn't see thing.
Two hours passed, and still no response from Xanthe. Sean was starting to lose it. He finally understood that Xanthe had completely blocked him.
"No, I can't just sit here doing nothing." He suddenly had an idea excitedly opening the game and checking his friend list.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
