Jessica hung up after finishing what she wanted to say.

Julia asked anxiously, "What do we do?"

Gary replied calmly, "We can always just visit and treat them well. I'm sure they will eventually forgive us, won't they?"

After a moment of thought, Julia nodded and said, "I guess that's our only choice. But what should we do about Ruby?"

"It's simple. We can confront her about it, but now is not the right time to do that," Gary said flatly.

"You're right."

Zane went downstairs to meet Sherry, who was already waiting in a coffee shop on the ground floor. She had ordered tea for both of them.

After taking his seat, he sipped the tea and savored its bitter taste and fragrant scent.

Zane asked nonchalantly, "Weren't you busy with work? What brings you here today?"

Sherry was a capable employee who knew a lot about Zane's past. Zane once tried to scout Sherry, but she refused to join his company. In the end, he gave up.

After leaning back into her seat with a chuckle, Sherry replied, "Because I've seen how pathetic you were when you had a crush on her. Aren't you scared that I'd tell her?"

"Nope," Zane quipped, earning Sherry's amusement.

He continued, "Are you meeting me to talk about our past?"

"No. Remember you invited me to work with you, and I rejected the offer? Now, it feels like I missed a good opportunity," Sherry said.

Zane understood Sherry's implication and asked, "Are you willing to join my company now?"

Immediately, Sherry exclaimed, "Of course!"

Following that, Zane told Eric to

make the necessary arrangements. Shortly after, Eric told Zane all he had to do was to bring Sherry to the tod

HR department and notify the team about it.

Eager for Sherry to join the company soon, Zane got up and said, "Let's settle your onboarding procedures now."

Sherry smiled and asked, "Do you still admire my capabilities, even now?"

Given the time that had passed, Sherry expected Zane to doubt her abilities.

Zane replied, "Yes. In fact, my wife is an amazing project manager, too. If it weren't for the fact that she excels at everything else, I would have introduced you to each other..."

Sherry knew Zane valued talent. That was why he was willing to hire her despite not being in contact for a long time.

When Sherry heard Zane's praises for Annalise, she felt taken aback. She secretly wondered if Zane was trying to be polite or if he actually admired Annalise's talent.

Sherry said, "If she has the time, I don't mind having a chat with her."

"Let's get you onboarded," Zane said, leading the way.
