Chapter 84: Consequences Of Her Actions
“I can’t believe she has the nerve to threaten the victim in this situation. How shameless!”
“I’ve long heard about how unreasonable and selfish rich people are; this is taking it to another level! How can you tell her she’s ruining your daughter’s career when your daughter pushed her down the goddamn stairs? Both mother and daughter deserve to rot in jail!”
“@Upstairs, this is the wrong representation of the aristocrats. On behalf of all aristocrats, we deny ever knowing them!”
“Oh, bless my heart! Where are these people from? The daughter is crazy, and the mother is an asylum escapee! They need therapy behind bars!”
“Why is murder a crime? For this, should we remove murder as a crime? The only reason I haven’t gone on a human hunt is because I’m scared my pretty ass will have to go to jail! Boycott this family!”
“Poor little Lily was probably too scared to speak up against the Smith family. Who knows how long she has been bullied by that scum family? #Justice for Lily”
“Justice for Lily!”
“Justice for Lily, Merissa needs to rot in jail!”
“@Upstairs And the rest of her family too! All of them should rot in jail!”
“#Boycott the Smith Corporation!”
“Ah! Did you see the post made by Grey’s newly sighed designer?! Oh my gosh! The smiths don’t know when to stop! She could even plagiarise a well-known young designer’s work. She has no fear!”
“What post? Send the link!”
“Ahhhh!! At this point, I can only call Merissa and her group of friends shameless.”
The more Mrs Smith read the online comment about her and her family, the more fear gripped her heart. Her fingers trembled as she scrolled through the posts, reading the comments and posts one after the other.
She saw the video of her meeting with Lily, and it appeared someone had been eavesdropping on them. Or, more accurately, Lily had arranged for them to be filmed.
Clicking on the link about Grey’s fashion designer took her to Grey’s official page, where several screenshots were posted.
One of the screenshots was about a post made by one of Merrisa’s friends about her new design, along with the post was a short write-up.
It saddens us to know that young designers are getting involved in issues of plagiarism. Thinking about leaving the industry to such a group of people even scared the seniors.
However, this post was not made to address that issue. We’ve been notified about how @Miss Smith, who is a current participant in the national fashion competition, used one of our exclusive designs and claimed it was hers.
This particular design is something special made by @Seasonedbloom for her idol, and it is an exclusive design with only one piece made.
Below is the proof of copyright for the design, and a lawsuit will be sent to her shortly.
We hope that the person involves corporations to resolve the issue.
Under that post were several comments cussing out Merissa for her evil deeds.
Merissa’s fashion scandal began to trend even more as the designer, Seasonedbloom, made a video explaining how much the design meant to her and how long it had taken her to get it done.
By the time it was morning, the whole internet was trending about the fashion scandal, which almost drew all the other trending news, including the Smith Corporation fraud news.
Lily, who had been planning their downfall for so long, was not about to let them off the hook.
With her anonymous account, she began to post videos, pictures, and even documents proving their fraud and the evasion of taxes.
As the post made it online, the Smith family’s scandal filled all the top spots on all online platforms.
Mr. Smith paced back and forth in his living room, a huge eye bag covering half of his face from the countless sleepless nights he’d had in the past week.
He brushed his hands through his unkempt hair and sighed every now and then before turning to his wife, who was sitting in the corner with a solemn expression. He stared at her for a few seconds, his mouth opening and closing like he had something to say, only for him to resume his pacing without saying a thing. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
After several minutes of repeating the same thing, he finally spoke. “Did you and your daughter offend any big shots?” He demanded coldly, making Mrs. Smith snap out of her daze.
Mrs Smith lifted her gaze to meet her husband’s icy stare, feeling a mixture of anger and disbelief. She opened her mouth to speak, but the words caught in her throat.
How could she possibly answer such an obvious question without being snappy?
Did he not see the long list of people their daughter had offended or even almost ruined their lives?
Not only did she plagiarise other people’s work, she had even threatened the lives of her schoolmates on several occasions.
Do they need to offend a big shot for those kids to get back at them?
Even with all this, Mrs. Smith knew their daughter was the least of her husband’s worries.
His question was asked for his business, not their daughter.
She took a deep breath to calm her tense nerves and then shook her head.
“We didn’t offend anyone that could affect your business. The question is, Did you offend anyone?” She asked and got a glare in return as Mr Smith turned away, walking towards his study.
Mrs. Smith hurriedly got up and followed behind him. “What about Merrisa? When are we going to get her out? It’s been almost two weeks,” she asked.
“What about her? I’m sure she won’t mind staying longer,” he hissed.
“What do you mean by staying longer?”
“What do you think I meant when I said that?” He countered, his voice rising as he turned to her with a cold, daring glare.
“She’s your daughter; are you going to allow her to continue staying there?” She asked in disbelief, and he scoffed.
“She should have thought about the consequences of her actions when she decided to commit a crime!”
“Well! It’s done, and there is nothing we can do about it! She was young and temperamental! Are you seriously considering your daughter spending her youthful years in prison?” Mrs. Smith demanded, her voice trembling as she noticed the indifference in her husband’s eyes.
“Since you are so hell-bent on getting her out, go for it. I’m sure you’ll enjoy being cussed out on the internet once again.” He said this and slammed the door in her face.
