Evelyn hadn't expected that, as Brandon's cousin, Harry would behave differently from Brandon.

Jason didn't say much either. The waiter brought over a blueberry dessert, which he pushed toward Evelyn.

Having met her a few times, he had probably noticed that she had a sweet tooth.

Evelyn didn't pay attention to the gesture. She focused on Harry, elaborating, "Regarding my uncle's condition, the hospital has suggested a new treatment plan that could improve the success rate. Mr. Miller, could you take a look at it for me?"

She laid out Leonard's medical records in front of him.

Harry nodded and started flipping through them.

After a moment, he spoke. "It's quite a coincidence. I'm currently leading a research project on oncology drugs, and it's being done at this hospital."

Evelyn hadn't expected such a coincidence. Moreover, being invited back to the country to lead a research project meant his level of expertise was certainly impressive.

After skimming through the records, he looked up. "The issue is rather complicated. A liver transplant is the most reliable option."

Evelyn's heart sank. "So... Mr. Miller, is there any chance you could treat my uncle?"

Jason also turned his attention to Harry.

Harry hesitated for a moment before pushing the records back toward her. "I'm sorry, but I may not have the time in the next two months. The research project I'm involved in is initiated by an international medical organization, so my schedule is quite packed.

"However, I can introduce you to my senior who came back with me."

Evelyn felt a bit disappointed. She knew that since Jason vouched for him, Harry must have had exceptional skills.

"My senior is also at this hospital and is a leading authority in oncology surgery. If you don't mind, I can have him take over." It sounded like Harry was gently declining the case.

Jason understood that Harry had come to meet Evelyn today because he had promised to do so. Even though he didn't have time, he still honored his commitment and helped with the situation.

Evelyn didn't press the matter further. She was grateful and accepted the offer.

Though deep down, she still wished that Harry could do the surgery himself, she knew it wasn't appropriate to push him further. At least he had considered her situation and arranged for a reliable doctor to take over.

After getting her hands on the contact information for Harry's senior, the meeting came to an end.

Jason went to get the car, and Evelyn walked with Harry to the door.

She was utterly exhausted after everything-chemotherapy in the morning, followed by the appointment at the courthouse, and now this meeting. Her energy was spent, and her face had paled as a result.

Harry stopped and looked at her closely, his eyes narrowing with concern. "Are you feeling unwell?"

He was a doctor, so it was easy for him to see that Evelyn looked weak.

Despite the weather still being a bit chilly, her forehead was sweating, and she was unsteady on her feet.

Her body had clearly taken a toll.

Evelyn had never realized just how much chemotherapy could affect her. She took a deep breath and, with a polite smile, replied, "I'm fine."

However, as she took a step down the stairs, her knees gave way for a moment.

Harry reacted quickly, reaching out to steady her by grabbing her delicate wrist. "Do you want me to take you to the hospital?"

Evelyn was about to shake her head when she suddenly noticed a familiar black Rolls-Royce Phantom parked nearby at the base of a building.

Tiffany and Lucas got out of the car, one after the other.

Since the area they were in was relatively spacious, Lucas raised his eyes and immediately noticed Evelyn as soon as he stepped out of the car.
