Chapter 260 The Weight of Choices
Chapter 260 The Weight of Choices
Frey had initially intended to call Peyton, but now she simply wanted to take a walk.
Her body, worn out from Nathaniel's torment the previous day, felt weak and unsteady. Despite her slow pace, her legs felt heavy, like an elderly
woman.
She settled down on the roadside, lifting her head to catch her breath, her heart feeling tight and suffocating. Suddenly, the screeching sound of brakes interrupted the quiet, and a black Bentley pulled up in front of her. Frey looked up as the Bentley's window rolled down, revealing Alexander's handsome and elegant face. She frowned and looked at him coldly.
Alexander, dressed in a silver-gray casual suit with a neatly tied tie, seemed to have just returned from a business meeting. If not for the woman with disheveled hair and a slightly flushed face, who had nearly fallen out of her low-cut evening dress, one might have believed his polished appearance.
"Get out!" Alexander said calmly. The woman inside glared at Frey with dissatisfaction but retreated slowly, clearly intimidated.
This woman, a rising star in the entertainment industry, showed a natural hostility toward Frey. But Frey couldn't care less.
Frey didn't care about anything anymore, as she was willing to risk anything The thing she had cared about most was long gone, and now, three years later, she felt like nothing more than a walking corpse.
Alexander exited the car and crouched down in front of Frey. With a gentle smile, he extended his hand. "Do you need any help, Ms. Frey?"
Frey was taken aback by Alexander's unexpected gesture. To see someone of his high standing lowering himself in this manner was surprising.
The last time she had been in
desperate straits, she had exposed all her vulnerabilities and
humiliations to him, only to be discarded. Now, he was once again offering his help, albeit in a rather condescending manner.

Frey gritted her teeth, resisting the urge to lash out. She looked at him coldly and said nothing.
Alexander, however, seemed patient. He kept his hand extended, showing no sign of withdrawing it. His gaze lingered on the red mark on her ear, which looked like a bite mark. He could easily imagine the scene of Frey being held and bitten.
The sight of his desire-filled gaze disgusted Frey even more. It seemed that not many people in high positions were well-mannered Nathaniel was arrogant and repulsive, and Alexander, though polished, was just as hypocritical and offensive.
"What's wrong? Did Nathaniel not send you a bodyguard or a driver? It doesn't seem very safe for you like this," Alexander remarked, finally feeling his arm growing numb from holding it out.
He took a seat beside Frey and chuckled softly. "Nathaniel doesn't want you anymore?"
Frey shifted away, resisting the urge to slap him. Alexander continued, "Mr. Nathaniel is not a gentle lover. If you don't mind, I have some property in Saeville where you could stay as long as you want."
Frey snorted with a hint of a laugh, trying to ignore the numbness in her knees as she stood up. She pointed at the woman in the Bentley, who was still lying by the window, complaining.
"Alexander, your lover is in the car. You've got the wrong person and you're going the wrong way."
"And... I'm a clean freak. Thank you."
With that, Frey walked around Alexander and continued on her way.
Alexander had always been popular with women. With his distinguished background, talent, and handsome appearance, coupled with his generally gentle demeanor, he was not known for being stingy with women.
