I Choose Power
Chapter 80: I Choose Power
“What if we could come to some other arrangement?” Ramos said, grasping at straws.
“I could offer you something else, something of value. Just not my daughter.”
Don Rizzo considered this for a moment, and then shook his head. “I’m afraid that’s not an option,” he said.
“I need your daughter to ensure your loyalty. It’s the only way I can be sure that you won’t turn on me.”
Ramos felt a sinking feeling in his stomach.
“Let me ask you a question,” Don Rizzo said, fixing Ramos with a piercing stare. “Do you value power more than your daughter’s safety?”NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
Ramos was taken aback by the question. It was a difficult one to answer, and he wasn’t sure how to respond.
On the one hand, he had always been driven by a desire for power and status. On the other hand, he loved his daughter and would do anything to protect her.
He felt like he was being torn in two, and he didn’t know how to resolve the conflict within himself.
After a long pause, Ramos finally spoke. “I don’t know,” he said, his voice trembling.
“I’ve always been driven by my ambition, but I never thought it would come to this. I never thought I would have to choose between my daughter and my goals.”
“But now you have to,” Don Rizzo said, his voice flat and unemotional. “So I’ll ask you again. Which is more important to you? Power or your daughter?”
Ramos felt as if he was standing on the edge of a precipice, with a decision that could change his life forever.
He knew that whatever he said would have serious consequences, but he couldn’t see a way out of this situation. He had to choose, and he had to choose now.
“I… I choose power,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
“That’s why I like you, Ramos. You love power just like me and can do anything to get it, even it meant sacrificing your beautiful daughter to get it.”
“I’m so proud.” Don Rizzo said.
“I promise to bring, Raven and my daughter to you in the next 24hours, Don Rizzo.” Ramos promised.
“Now, you’re speaking my language.” Don Rizzo said.
“You can leave now, I have another important meeting.”
Ramos bowed and then left, Don Rizzo’s office and headed towards his car where his men were standing and waiting for him.
Ramos got into the car and slumped back against the seat. He felt a mix of emotions: relief that he had gotten out of the meeting with Don Rizzo alive, disgust at the things he had said, and a heavy weight of guilt for what he had promised.
He knew that he couldn’t go through with it, but he also knew that he couldn’t go back on his word. He was stuck, and he didn’t know what to do. What should he do?
He needed more power and Don Rizzo is his ticket to gaining more power and he was willing to do anything to get more power.
How was he going to get Raven? He thought.
She was with the Sanchez brothers, so he knew it would be difficult to find her and bring her to Don Rizzo, but he had to try for he only had 24hours to do it.
He decided to make some few calls to someone who he knows is good at finding someone who doesn’t want to be found.
He took out his phone and made a call.
“Hello, Almino.” Ramos said.
“Ramos, Escobar, what an unusual surprise. I didn’t expect that you’d call me after all these years.” Almino said.
“I need your help in tracking down someone and I need you to do it in the next 10 hours. Can you do that?” Ramos asked.
“Ramos, Ramos. You know I’m the best person for the job.” Almino said.
“All you have to do is pay the right amount and then leave me to do the searching.”
“Money is no problem, Almino. I just need you to find her and bring her to me.” Ramos said.
“Do you have her picture and name and when was the last time you saw her?” Almino asked.
“Two weeks ago, but she sent a voice recording to me recently.” Ramos said.
“Voice recording huh. Can you send the voice recording so that I could use that to track her location by listening to the sounds around her environment?” Almino asked.
“I’m afraid, I can’t send that for it contains confidential information that should not be shared to anyone especially not to someone like you.” Ramos said.
“Okay… I’ll find other ways to find her. Just send me her picture and then name and leave the rest to me.” Almino said.
“I’ll send it to you now…..
