The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2897

“Alright, let’s have Emma whip up a few of her quick specials. You absolutely must try her signature dish, the Prawn Perfection. It’s divine, Nolan; you’ve got to taste it!”

Regina had completely forgotten the sting on her cheek. This was the first time Nolan was coming over for lunch as her husband, and although the timing and circumstances were less than ideal, she still wanted Nolan to enjoy her favorite dishes.

Nolan nodded with a gracious smile. “Sounds delightful.”

Francis, seizing the opportunity, chimed in, “Oh, it truly is! Emma’s been with the Tanner family since forever, came over with Regina’s mom back in the day. She’s been cooking for Regina since she was a little girl – knows her palate like the back of her hand. If you’re a fan, why not bring Emma over to your place? She could look after your meals on the daily.”

Nolan didn’t reject the suggestion outright; instead, he looked to Regina, seemingly asking for her opinion.

Regina was at a loss for words. They weren’t even living together yet, so where would Emma stay if she moved out?

Was she supposed to shuttle back and forth between their places on alternating days? That seemed too much of a hassle for Emma.

“If you like the idea, we could move into the place my parents are gifting us for our wedding. It’s all set up and not far from your office. Emma could come over and take good care of you, and I’d have peace of mind while I’m at work.”

Property in South Hill Community was coveted, something even the wealthy Tanner family could only dream of. Yet here was Nolan, casually offering it as if Regina’s agreement was the only contingency. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Francis was practically on pins and needles, eager to nod in agreement on behalf of his daughter.

Nolan, ever so familiar, ladled some soup for Regina. “Here, have some to warm your stomach. No rush on the decision. The house isn’t going anywhere.”

Francis, anxious, urged her on, “What’s there to think about? South Hill Community is just a stone’s throw from your job at New Blossom Press. Moving there would be so convenient, plus you’d have Emma to look after your wellbeing.”

Considering the proximity to both her work and Nolan’s company, the Harris Group, Regina finally nodded in approval.

“Then, when we leave, we’ll take Emma with us

After tasting the soup and finding it still warm, Regina quickly served Nolan a bowl as well.

“Try some; Emma’s cooking is definitely trustworthy.”

The two leaned in, whispering and giggling, completely oblivious to the mother and daughter seated across from them.

Madeline, head bowed, was nearly grinding her teeth in frustration. “The abalone in this soup is overcooked. What’s so great about that? Nolan, you should try Emma’s specialty, the ‘Jade and Pearl Soup’ next time. That one’s truly exquisite. And my sister, praising just any soup… it’s as if she’s trying to spare you from thinking our family lacks sophistication.”

“No need to worry about that,” Regina rolled her eyes and said with a dismissive tone, “Once Emma’s with us, we’ll be able to enjoy her cooking every day.”
