Chapter 476
"No way, no way, carving is such a demanding task. You're the star of the day, being newlyweds and all. Since when does the star of the show lift a finger?"
But what really mattered was the piece of stone that had just been delivered. Even Tristan himself felt a chill looking at it.
How on earth was he supposed to start?
Sienna scolded, "I told you not to mess with these silly plans. If you're going to order something, order it in advance. Rushing something like this last minute, do you have any idea how frustrated I am? I could yell at you!"
"I didn't want it to be this way either, but we haven't been able to get in touch with Master Sylvie at all!"
Tristan had planned to feature a piece by Master Sylvie at Noella's wedding.
Master Sylvie's works had fetched sky-high prices in the past few years, marking her as a world-class master with an increasingly busy schedule!Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Noella spoke up calmly, "Oh, I didn't know Dad was handling it. I left all the wedding preparations to him."
Tristan was stunned.
While he was still processing, Noella had already called over the crew from Polaris Star, dividing the stone into sections. Except for the most crucial part, the head, which Noella took upon herself to carve, the rest was a collaborative effort to save time.
Watching Noella carve with such expertise and fluidity, Tristan's jaw hit the floor!
"So our precious girl is... Master Sylvie?"
No wonder all these years when he bought pieces from Master Sylvie, she insisted on not taking money, just a nominal fee for the craftsmanship! Tristan had thought it was because his taste in art matched Master Sylvie's...
Little did he know, his daughter was Master Sylvie herself!
Phecda chuckled, "Only our boss would end up working on her own wedding day. Talk about a unreliable delivery service."
Tristan was momentarily lost for words!
After quickly picking his jaw up from the floor, Tristan turned around to massage Noella's shoulders.
"Don't overdo it!"
"I know, it's nothing major."
Noella quickly finished her part. According to Tristan's wishes, the sculpture was to be of Noella and Palmer in their wedding attire, placed in the most prominent spot.
Elara outright refused, "Dad, sculptures of real people are usually for memorials. Can't you think of something more appropriate?"
Who would put a life-size sculpture of the bride and groom in the hall at their wedding?
Just the thought of it made it hard to bear!
Instead, they ended up carving cute chibi versions of the couple, using paints taken from Master Killian, making them look even more adorable.
Tristan was thrilled with the sculpture, "So cute! Dad is already looking forward to seeing your kids!"
They would surely be just as adorable as these two little figures!
As the wedding bells chimed, Noella, with her crown and veil back on, placed her hand on Tristan's wrist. Three little ones followed behind, holding up her train, as they stepped onto the red carpet.
The wedding march echoed, filling every corner of the island with its sacred and solemn melody.
At the other end of the red carpet, Palmer, holding the bouquet, stared at his approaching bride, his eyes misting over.
He strode towards Noella, and before Tristan could utter his heartfelt words, he burst into tears.
"Palmer, oh! I only have two daughters, and both have been swept away by your family! Noella is my treasure, you must treat her well for life! Otherwise, I won't let you off even as a ghost!"
Noella, between tears and laughter, quickly dabbed at Tristan's eyes with a handkerchief.
"Dad, I'll still live at home after getting married. Palmer's place is just next door. We agreed, it's just a wedding, not a departure."
Yet Tristan couldn't bear it, wailing and jumping down to cling to Sienna's legs.
Sienna remarked, "Your dad is making a spectacle of himself. Don't mind him; carry on!"
Though she said this, Sienna's eyes were also brimming with tears. If not for fear of ruining her makeup, she might have joined Tristan in his display. Sitting among the guests, Lavinia wiped away her tears, "I understand Mr. Schnabel completely."
If Elara were to get married, she doubted she'd fare any better than Tristan!
Jacob Pollack by her side promptly declared, "I'd at least handle it better!" "Oh?"
"I'll save my tears for later."
Lavinia laughed, the somber mood instantly lifted.
The wedding proceeded as planned.
Noella admired the ring on her finger, a stone she had mined and polished herself into a shape she loved, leaving the rest for Palmer to work on. Together, they had created something unique!
Below, Tristan and Jasper were a mess of tears, a rather comical sight.
Ulrich, sitting upright, dabbed at his eyes and solemnly said, "Honey, let's just have sons-in-law in the future. Daren can do as he pleases, but I can't bear the thought of our daughter getting married!"
Even Palmer, living just next door, was too much for Tristan to let Noella go!
The wedding had been arranged so that Noella would still live with the Schnabel family after, with Palmer simply moving in as well. Malvina patted Ulrich's shoulder.
"Just the other day, I heard Daren saying only his children could carry the Schnabel name. From now on, Ophelia's children will carry the Schnabel name too!"
Ulrich was quick to compromise: "I've already fired that nanny, honey, don't worry! Besides, the surname doesn't matter. If you want, I'd even take your last name!"
Malvina gave him a reproachful look.
"I have no affection for the Gruber family! It's a blessing to have our children bear the Schnabel name, growing up in such a family makes me happy!" "Besides... your daughter doesn't really need your worry."
Malvina glanced at Ophelia, who stubbornly clung to Gavin's leg, and sighed.
Ophelia gazed up at Noella Palmer on stage, her cheeks flushed with a timid smile, "Gavin, when I grow up, will you marry me too?"
Gavin blinked in surprise, "Uh... what?"
"Just like Auntie and Uncle! Gavin, you're so handsome, our wedding would be picture-perfect! We could have our names on a fancy sign at the entrance - Gavin and Ophelia!"
Something felt off to Gavin, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Let's talk about it when we're older, little sis Ophelia."
"Don't forget I proposed to you, okay?"
Ulrich rubbed his chin, bewildered, "Where did she pick that up from?"
Malvina chuckled, "Must be in the genes. Her dad proposed on the first day he confessed his love, after all."
Recalling the events of years past, Ulrich joined in the laughter, intertwining his fingers with Malvina's.
"Thanks, love. I'm really happy now!"
Stirling had invited famous media outlets from around the globe to cover the grand wedding!
The champagne for the celebration, air-shipped by Tristan, was poured into a tower by the newlyweds, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere.
Millie, holding a glass of champagne, was just about to take a sip when Jasper snatched it away.
"You've still got that injury on your arm; no alcohol for you, I'll drink it."
Watching Jasper down the champagne right in front of her, Millie fumed, "Are you out of your mind? It's just a bit of champagne!"
"Ulrich said you shouldn't drink."
"And why not? It's not like I'm gonna get drunk!"
Jasper coughed, lowering his voice, "Malvina thinks you look pregnant."
Millie, hand mid-air ready to slap, paused and withdrew, instead touching her belly.
"Pregnant? With what? Cheeseburgers, BBQ ribs, or iced lattes?"
Jasper panicked, "Obviously, mine! Mine!"
Millie's gaze shifted suspiciously between Jasper's face and her stomach.
"You? Are you sure you're up to it?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
She was doubting his capability!
Millie rubbed her belly, "I'll go see my mentor and then we'll know for sure."
Once Noella, dressed in her toast attire, confirmed Millie's pregnancy, Millie mused, "Just from that one time accidentally pulled down the young master's pants, and now I'm pregnant."
A chorus of gasps and murmurs rippled through the crowd.
Jasper, cheeks aflame, quickly covered Millie's mouth and whisked her away!
Layla exclaimed with excitement, "We're gonna have a little one in our family! I'm not the baby anymore!"
After a moment's thought, she added, "But still the prettiest!"
Ophelia, on her tiptoes, reached for Noella's hand, "Auntie, when will you have a little baby?"
Noella winked at her, gently stroking the young girl's cheek, "Maybe the little one is up in the stars right now, choosing their mommy, wondering if they
should pick me."
"Absolutely! Hey, little star baby, listen up! My auntie and uncle are the best, absolutely the best. Hurry up and come!"
Everyone couldn't help but laugh at Ophelia's adorable earnestness.
As the waltz played, everyone
stepped onto the dance floor,
Ophelia pulling Gavin along to dance too. The children twirled and twisted until they eventually fell asleep amidst the fun.
Beyond the dance floor stretched a vast, azure sea.
Noella and Palmer locked eyes, the moonlight reflecting in their clear, bright eyes, illuminating all before them like the bright lights of the Obelisk Organization over the Abyssal Organization, with fireworks lighting up the night sky, as splendid
as day.
At the beach's edge, four sturdy men squatted, sharing drinks.
Watching the fireworks, Thorpe grinned, "Beautiful, just like tonight's moon and tomorrow's sun."
But even better is having the people we wait for the sunrise with right beside us!
