The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus)

Chapter 631 Mind Their Own Business

"Natalie took out her phone, ready to make a call, when Samuel shouted once

again, "Stop! This is between me and my wife. It's none of your business! Marcus,

Natalie, I advise you to stay out of this."

Marcus raised an eyebrow. "Why are you getting so worked up? It seems like you

don't actually want a divorce."

Samuel couldn't understand how things had taken such a turn. They had come to

Dithoria to attend Marcus and Natalie's wedding, using the trip to also discuss

collaborations and facilitate their move here.

But now, Sierra wanted to divorce him. Jonathan had even hit him. Although

Melissa didn't hit him or scold him, judging by the way she looked at him, it was

clear what she thought of him.

Most important among all was Sierra's sudden shift in attitude. This wasn't how

things were between them.

A flicker of panic crossed Samuel's face. He had yet to seize control of Sinclair

Group, and he hadn't regained entry into the Sinclair residence.

At that moment, even though he was a part of the Sinclair family, he felt he hadnoveldrama

become a hated figure.

"Marcus, Natalie, stay out of this." Samuel forced himself to suppress his anger,

maintaining a rational tone. "Whether it's between me and Sophia or me and

Sierra, neither of you have the standing or right to interfere."

Marcus and Natalie exchanged a glance before nodding in unison.

"You're right," Marcus said. "We shouldn't meddle in your family affairs.

Sweetheart, let's go."

With that, he stood and pulled Natalie up with him. He gave a slight nod to the

others inside the hospital room.

"Everyone, we'll be taking our leave," Marcus announced. "Mom, let's go."

Laura had come here with them, but she had been standing silently behind them

the entire time, trying to keep a low profile.

When Laura heard Marcus calling for her, she quickly caught up with the couple.

Once they left the ward, Laura took Natalie's hand and whispered, "Nat, don't

worry. Marcus will never turn into a man like Samuel. If he ever does, I'll be the

first to beat him to death."

Natalie laughed. "Thank you, Mom. I trust Marcus."

Laura nodded. "Good, but don't be too trusting. Some men would transfer their

assets behind their wives' backs and keep mistresses."

"Mom," Marcus said in a helpless tone. "I'm right here. Do you think it's a good

idea to say that about your own son in front of Nat?"

Laura feigned ignorance. "Did I say something? I don't recall saying anything!"

Marcus shook his head in exasperation. But when he saw Laura acting that way,

he felt relieved.

He had been worried that she would remain trapped in the shadows of the past,

living in pain and sorrow.

But now, seeing her act playfully with even a hint of cuteness, it reassured him.

Laura was slowly returning to who she was before the illness.

"I passed Walter's contact to Sierra," Natalie said, waving her phone. "I think she

might need it."

"But didn't Samuel just tell you two to stay out of it?" Laura sounded worried. "He

seems to have lost his mind. He refuses to see his own faults and only blames

others. People like that can be dangerous and extreme. I'm worried he might take

revenge on you two."

"Don't worry. He can't do anything to us." Natalie linked arms with Laura. "Marcus

and I know how to protect ourselves."

She continued, "Besides, it's not even certain whether Samuel will be able to stay

in Dithoria. We don't need to get involved. Mr. Remington will handle it for sure."

Marcus added, "Not just him, but Zachary will do something as well."

"Exactly. So don't worry about it, Mom."

Hearing this, Laura finally relaxed.

The three of them exited the hospital. Marcus made a call, and moments later, the

driver pulled up with their car.

"Let's go home."

"Alright."

The three of them got into the car and returned to Holden Residence.

As soon as they arrived, Laura bid farewell to Marcus and Natalie before looking

for Sheldon.

"Sheldon, how are Marcus and Natalie's wedding preparations coming along?"

she asked.

Laura had been out of touch with society for far too long. Though she had

discussed the plans with Charlotte, Charlotte made the final decisions.

Still, Laura had asked Sheldon to be involved. After all, he was far more

experienced than she was in handling such matters.

"Everything is progressing smoothly. When the day of the wedding comes, it will

be perfect," he replied.

"That's good to hear." Laura let out a breath of relief. "Sheldon, thank you for all

your hard work. It must've been tough."

"You're welcome, Ms. Laura. Don't

worry, it's no trouble at all. By the

way, I've begun handing over my

duties to Noah. From now on, if you

need anything, you can go to him."

Sheldon smiled and continued, "I'm getting old. After Mr. Marcus and Mrs.

Natalie's wedding, I plan to retire.

"I bought a small house in the countryside where I can grow vegetables and raise

chickens, living out the rest of my days in peace."

"Sheldon, you could just retire here. You can do your gardening and raise

chickens here as well."

Laura was reluctant to see Sheldon go. When she and Wesley had been away, it

was Sheldon and Charles who had raised Marcus.

"Ms. Laura, I've been planning this

ever since the late Mr. Holden Senior

passed away." Sheldon put on a

smile, but his eyes reddened. "Don't

worry I'll have someone staying with

me in the countryside. I won't let

myself suffer."

"Sheldon-"

"You should rest now, Ms. Laura," Sheldon interrupted.

He smiled and continued, "Mr. Wesley has been coming home late recently.

There's a lot of work to do, and he's been exhausted.

"You should check in on him. He's not back yet, so he's probably still at the office.

"Would you like the driver to take you to pick him up?"

The moment Laura heard that, the look in her eyes shifted. Picking Wesley up

from work was something she used to do when they were younger.

But now, they were divorced. Even though they lived under the same roof, she

was the one who had asked for the divorce, and Wesley had granted it.

If she were to approach him now, she was afraid of what he might say.

"Don't worry and overthink, Ms. Laura." Sheldon saw through her hesitation. "I

watched Mr. Wesley grow up.

"Just like the late Mr. Holden Senior

and Mr. Marcus, he's someone who

will never shange his heart once he

chooses someone. Even though

you're divorced, if you just say the

word, he will marry you again

without hesitation.

"You two have been together for many years. Don't leave room for regret. Some

people and some things, once lost, will never come back."

As Sheldon spoke, his eyes turned even redder, and his voice choked slightly.

"Ms. Laura, please, don't let yourself live with regret."
