Chapter 2755
It was just as the geezer had said the hag had been pampered for so long that
she could not tell right from wrong.
In fact, in her mind, everything she did was never wrong and was even reasonable!
That was what frustrated the geezer the most, and he simply stopped arguing and started whipping her with his belt.
Pain really clears the mind, and the hag was no exception. In fact, she thought for a split second that she might have made a mistake.
However, it only lasted for that split second—a little whipping was never really going to correct a lifetime of distorted beliefs!
"I don't get it!" she cried. "Why do you treat my love with such disdain?! You don't have to love me, but you have to respect me!"
The geezer laughed coolly and continued to whip her as he snapped, "That's true! But now, what I say goes-that's all there is to it!"
That was when Frank suddenly reached out and caught the belt.
It stunned the geezer, who quickly checked Frank's hand, and sighed after seeing that he was fine. "What is it, boy?"
Frank shook his head. "Nothing. Just feeling a little restless and would like a debate."
The geezer frowned as he realized what Frank was going to do—he wanted to break the hag's will, which she was so proud of.
But would that really change her mind?
As such, he reasoned, "Hear me out, kid. You've already beaten her physically- you have no reason to go through that trouble!"noveldrama
Frank smiled, shaking his head. "Don't worry-even if you lose, I have my ways to make up for it."
As Frank gestured with a balled fist, the geezer tactfully moved aside, keeping his glare on the hag.
After all, Frank had already proved that he was more powerful than what he expected, so he had no right to dispute Frank's rights to a debate.
On the other hand, the hag forced herself to sit up and smirked. "Don't think that you can make me bend just because you can punch. You can kill me, but you're not going to defeat me."
Frank laughed. "That's why I want to try! No one in the world would win against my fist, let alone you. What's the point of living if I can't break your will?"
With those words, he sat down crossed leg, levitating mid-air and looking down at the hag like a god would.
The hag did not feel inferior just because he was higher, however.
If anything, she felt more superior now.
"Well, let's get on with it. How are you going to state your case?" she asked.
"Let's start with your love!"
Frank chuckled. "You said that the gentleman here treated your love
with disdain, but may I ask what's t
noble about it? Or to put it more simply what makes you different from the people fighting just to make a living or fighting just to survive?"
"Because of my mindset, of course!" the hag retorted. "I would rather die than go without love. It's what fundamentally sets us apart from the animals, and the reason for my pride!"
Frank nodded. "So you're unable to tell me why you believe your love is more
noble than love between legitimate spouses?"
The question left the hag stumped.
What do you think?
