Chapter 1489
She nearly forgot how skilled some people were at making a fortune.
Mirabella pressed her fingertips to her temples, suddenly regretting not keeping Cassie's messages locked away in the digital void.
But then she thought it might not be too late to block her now.
So, when Cassie sent a lengthy message bragging about making a fortune with her wit, she was met with 'The user has activated friend verification, you are not friends.'
Cassie: "???"

Two days later, Mirabella went to meet Jenna upon her invitation.
She declined the suggestion to go shopping, and the two met at a downtown café in the afternoon.
"Mira, you look so different, and you've lost quite a bit of weight!" Jenna, after ordering, waited for the waiter to leave before commenting.
Mirabella raised an eyebrow, her delicate features now more restrained, "Given your attention to detail, you shouldn't have flunked any courses in the first semester, should you?"
She had seen Jenna's final grades screenshot on social media before.
Jenna covered her face, feeling no shame when hearing this from her cousin, but coming from a top student, it filled her with embarrassment.
She coughed twice, making an excuse: "Well, failing courses is normal, it's a rite of passage for modern university students."
Mirabella just looked at Jenna with a half-smile.
At that moment, the waiter brought over a coffee pot, breaking Jenna's embarrassment. She cheerily poured coffee for Mirabella before changing the subject.
Jenna was always one for gossip. Despite not having seen each other for a long time, her chatter was endless, "...Oh right, Mira, do you remember which university Summer went to?" noveldrama
Mirabella sipped her coffee, surprised Jenna would suddenly bring up Summer,
and after a pause, asked, "Which university?"
"The same as mine, and she even chose the same computer science major Jenna pouted, continuing,
it's weird, she transferred after
just half a semester."
Mirabella already knew this from the information she had found on Atlas, so she just nodded and hummed in response.
"People say she transferred to an Ivy League school abroad and even changed her major. When she left, she looked so proud."
Jenna clicked her tongue, remembering Summer's facade that day, still finding it utterly hypocritical.
Mirabella's eyebrows slightly raised, calmly stating, "Those who get into Ivy League schools do have a reason to be proud."
"But it's strange, her scores when she got into Radiant Ridge College were at best above average. She didn't have the credentials for an Ivy League, did she?" Jenna tapped her chin as she spoke.
Mirabella nodded, nonchalantly saying, "This is a world of money and power."
"But the Gilbert family went bankrupt a long time ago, where did she get the money and power? Unless she found herself a wealthy patron," Jenna analyzed. "Perhaps," Mirabella's voice was light.
Finding a wealthy patron was unlikely, but with her experience of seemingly living through two lifetimes, finding another way out wasn't impossible.
She just wondered what role Summer was playing now.
Mirabella's eyelashes drooped slightly, her fingertips caressing the coffee cup, her thoughts inscrutable.
Jenna only mentioned Summer briefly, then moved on to gossip about relationships, "Mira, you don't have a boyfriend, do you?"
Mirabella tilted her head, looking at Jenna, "Why, are you offering to set me up?"
What do you think?
