The Cherished Wife

Chapter 597

Chapter 597

Noelle? Becky was stunned for a moment. Could J have just seen Noelle?

"They're just in a superior-subordinate relationship, Ms. Shaw only comes to Mr. Hoffman's office when he has business with her. Under normal circumstances, Ms. Shaw wouldn't even be on the 27th floor. Ms. Baker, are you misunderstanding something?" Becky feigned ignorance.

J, however, gritted her teeth. "Misunderstanding? Why doesn't he call anyone else? Why does Charles always have her come over?"

"Ms. Baker, Mr. Hoffman usually calls up people from downstairs when he needs something, and it's not just Ms. Shaw."

"But she's the only woman!" No matter what Becky said, J felt that Noelle was different from everyone else. Maybe it was a woman's intuition, but every time J saw Noelle in Charles' office, she felt extremely uncomfortable.

"I don't care, you investigate her for me. Noelle must be up to no good. If you find any dirt on her, let me know right away. We have to get that woman out of Collosus Group and away from Charles"

Becky frowned. "I'm not sure about this. She's part of the project department, and I—"

"Becky, aren't we best friends?" J grabbed Becky's hand. "Are you free tonight? Let's go shopping. I heard there's a new restaurant by the border trade area, and I'll treat you to a Farisian dinner."

"Uh..." Becky forced a smile, pulling her hand from J's grip, and nodded. "Alright, I'll see what I can find out about Noelle."

In Charles' office, he held the event schedule for the year-end party that Becky had just handed over in one hand and a pen in the other. He frowned slightly as he looked at Becky. "Is that really what she said?"

"Yes, Ms. Baker even said she wants to take me out for a Farisian dinner tonight. She seems to have a big issue with Noelle, though I'm not sure why. Every time she runs into Noelle, her mood just goes off."

"She's seen Noelle?" Charles asked suddenly.

Becky was a little taken aback. "I'm not sure. I think she's only ever seen Noelle's back a few times. But her emotional reactions are intense; it's like Ms Baker has some kind of...." Becky hesitated, struggling to find the right words.

Charles gave a cold smile and set down his pen. "You think she's sick in the head?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Hoffman." Becky quickly apologized. "I didn't mean to speak ill of Ms. Baker, I just—"

Charles raised his hand slightly, smiling. "It's fine. She's not quite right in the head. Keep that to yourself; there's no need to mention it to anyone else."Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

"Yes, sir." Becky naturally would not spread this around. Even if Charles was not fond of J, she was still considered a VIP, and Becky would not dare speak about her to others.

"Since J asked you to investigate Noelle, go ahead and do it."

"Are you sure? After all, Ms. Shaw-"

Becky thought Noelle was pretty innocent, and was getting targeted by J for no reason. Charles just waved her off. "The information you need for the investigation-I'll have Ronald get you a copy in a couple of days. Just give that to J."

"Yes, sir." Since Charles said so, Becky had no grounds to refuse. "Mr. Hoffman, is there anything else you'd like to address in this event plan? If not, I'll go ahead and get started."

"There's basically no issue. However, you still haven't settled on an artist with Royal Star. What are your thoughts?"
