There were still important matters at the company, so Harvey was called away by a phone call.

Wynn didn’t look too well.

Lilian guessed that aside from being shaken by Celeste’s dazzling performance today, something else must have happened.

She asked, “At the launch event, how did Trevor act toward Celeste?”

Wynn lowered her eyes. “He admired her.”

Lilian’s expression gradually darkened.

In the past, Trevor had always ignored Celeste. In his eyes, she was worthless. He had never once shown any admiration for her. (3)

“The technology Celeste talked about at the event–do you think it really came from her?”

So, if Celeste truly had that kind of ability, it wouldn’t be surprising for Trevor to change his stance and start admiring her.

Before Wynn could respond, Linda blurted out, “Of course, it’s not hers! She’s just an undergrad–how could she have that kind of capability? It must be Matthias-” (7

But before she could finish, Wynn said, “It probably is hers.”

Linda’s eyes widened in shock. “How is that possible? How could she-?” 2

But the fact was, Celeste had skipped three grades and entered university early–at Aurelia University, the top–ranked university in the country.

Although Linda herself had also skipped grades and gone to a well–known university, it still wasn’t on par with Aurelia University. 2

In other words, Celeste had the foundation for academic research if she had wanted to pursue it.

So, even if it was hard to admit, Wynn couldn’t deny the possibility that both Celeste’s paper and the technologies she presented today might really be her own work. 4

Lilian had thought of this too.

Back then, Celeste’s outstanding academic performance had actually put a lot of pressure on Wynn.

Clenching her hands, Wynn asked, “If it wasn’t her work, would she dare to claim it so publicly?” (2

Lilian and Wynn chose to ignore her.

Wynn pursed her lips and said, “I just don’t understand…”

Even though Celeste had skipped grades to enter university, she didn’t achieve anything particularly notable during her time at university. 7 After graduating with her bachelor’s, she got married and had Jordyn, and later joined the Fleming Group.

In that situation, how could she still possess such extensive research expertise?

Lilian had considered this too. She knew what her daughter was struggling with.

After sending Linda out of the room, Lilian said gently, “Even if Celeste really is that capable, you and Trevor have such a deep bond. It’s not something that can be easily shaken. (5

Wynn said nothing.

Even though Trevor had seemed calm after the launch event and treated her as kindly as always, could he really be as unaffected by Celeste as he appeared?

She couldn’t help but think of how, not long ago, Trevor had gone out of his way to collect the research papers Celeste had recommended while giving technical lectures to Fleming Group’s engineers. 5

If he truly was as calm as he seemed, then why had he not once mentioned anything about the launch event after it ended?
