The Billionaire's Past

CHAPTER 45

CHAPTER 45

Atif arrives at home.

Because it is the weekend all of the members of his adoptive family are in the mansion, taking rest.

No one will go to the office or business trip. Jasmin call at the back of Atif when he is about to walk

inside the mansion. Atif didn't notice that Jasmin was in the hallway when he arrived.

“Atif it's already morning, where did you sleep last night?” Jasmin asked with wide smile on his face.

Atif turned around and answered.

“In a friend’s house." Atif answered in a serious tone.

"Really? Some of our employees saw you hanging around in one of the apartments near the place of

the perfume factory. So you have a friend in that kind of place? Probably a new one?" Jasmin asked.

"Yeah, I have. Is there something wrong with having a friend living in that kind of place?" Atif answered.

“Oh there's nothing wrong with that. Just saying because there are rumors coming from our employees

that the next CEO of the H&A Summit Holding Inc. is hanging around with a beautiful lady living in that

mean place. The rumor started last day. “Jasmin informed Atif.

"What?!" Atif exclaimed in disgust.

“So is that true Atif? You have been on that place?" Jasmin asked. He wants to confirm from Atif if the

rumor is true.

"Yes. I've been there. I slept in her unit last night because of the bad weather. I couldn't go home last

night." Atif explained to Jasmin.

"Okay. Don't you worry because our grandfather just ignored the rumor that he heard about you from

our employees. Meaning you are safe from his sermon." Jasmin said.

"Oh thanks a lot. “Atif said.

"And that is strange because every time that he heard something like that about you he got angry and

immediately warned you to stop seeing whosoever the woman is." Jasmin said.

“He will not get angry because he knows who the lady staying in that apartment that I visited last night

is. She is Haya. And I know you also knew that the private detective that our grandfather hired found

Haya that Haya survived when the cruise ship sank. Why didn't you tell me? "Atif said.

“I’m sorry Bro. But that is the idea of our grandfather. I just obey what he wants.

He never told you because he wants to surprise you on your birthday. He will tell you on your birthday

because he thinks that is the best gift that he can give to you. Finding the person you longing to see

again for a long time. But the situation had change. You found it out before we can tell you." Jasmin

explained.

"Alright I understand." Atif said.

“Now that she is back in your life. What are your plans?" Jasmin asked Atif while they are walking

toward the garden instead of entering inside the mansion.

"Even if she wants to be alone I'm still visiting her at her place." Atif said.

“She wants to be alone?" Jasmin asked.

“Because she told me that her problem is none of my business and she is old enough to handle it." Atif

answered.

“She told you that? You're right she wants to solve her own problem alone without disturbing or

bothering you. Maybe because she knows that you are always busy and she doesn't want to give you

additional burden, Atif." Jasmin said.

“Yes, maybe but I insisted on helping her so she just agreed. She allowed me to accompany her when

she visited her father but I felt that she was too annoyed with me because of that." Atif said.

Jasmin laughed.

Atif was puzzled why.

Then Jasmin explained.

“You know maybe she is hiding something from you that she doesn't want you to find out, that's why

she acts like that. Visiting her father is not really her exact problem." Jasmin said.

“Really? I don't get it." Atif said.

Jasmin laughed again and shook his head while Atif just shrugged his shoulders while waiting for

Jasmin's explanation.

“You don't get it? Maybe you are her problem.

She just made an excuse for you not to find it out?" Jasmin said.

“Me? Why?" Atif asked with curiosity in his voice.

“Yes you are her problem. Why? Because maybe this time she feels different about you. She is

attracted to you this time. She wants to be more than just your friend but she doesn't want to show it to

you because she is afraid that you don't feel the same way too. So she just wants to avoid you so that

you won't find out." Jasmin explained.

“If that would be the case she has nothing to be afraid of. She and I can be more than just friends." Atif

said.

“All you have to do is to reveal your feelings to her. “Jasmin said.

“Of course I will do that." Atif said.

Atif felt that his cellphone vibrated in his pocket. He pulls it out to see who is messaging.

He received a message from Haya using her fb account Aliyah.

“Atif, do not go to my apartment this afternoon. I already left to go to my father's house. I will visit him

this morning. I will come back to my apartment tomorrow." Aliyah's message.

Atif takes a deep breath before typing his reply to Aliyah.

“Okay. Take care." Atif replied.

Jasmin notice it so he asked Atif;

"Why?" Jasmin asked.

“Haya already left to visit her father. She didn't wait for me." Atif said in a sad voice.

“I told you she is avoiding you, that's why she does that." Jasmin said.

“Okay. I agree." Atif said.

Atif orders the maid to get his laptop and bring it here in the garden. He decided to finish some

paperwork since he will not go out to accompany Haya. He sat on the garden set and started doing his

While Jasmin left Atif in the garden and got inside the gym near the garden.

On the other hand.

Few hours later Haya reached the house of his father Gil.

She rings the doorbell.

A young lady opens the gate holding a little child that seems to be her child. She is Ena, the younger

sister of Haya.

“Yes Ma'am. What can I do for you?" Ena asked.

"I'm looking for my father Mr. Gil. Is he around?" Haya asked.

“Haya?" Ena asked

“Yes. I am Haya. I repeat, is he around? Can I come in? “Haya said.

“Yes. Please come in. I'm Ena. Your younger sister. Our father is in the study room. I'll tell the maid to

call him. Take your seat first." Ena introduces herself for Haya doesn't know her for this is the first time

they see each other.

But Ena knew Haya very well because their father was always telling a story about her.

Ena called the maid and ordered Gil to call.

Haya sat in the living room.

When their brother saw Haya sitting in the living room, he rushed downstairs to meet Haya.

“Haya how are you? I'm Ted. Your younger brother." Ted introduces himself to Haya for this is the first

time he sees Haya.

“I’m fine. Nice meeting you Ted." Haya answered.

When her stepmother sees Haya she hurriedly comes near Haya and greets her.

"Haya. I'm glad you came. So you are willing to help your father save our company?" Haya's

stepmother Melinda asked.

“Help my father save the company? How will I do that? What is the problem?" Haya asked in

confusion.

Before her stepmother could answer Haya's question her father came.

When Haya saw her father Gil she stood up and embraced her father.

Haya's father cried while saying;

“I thought I would never see you again, my daughter." Gil said.

“Don’t cry. I'm here again. How can I help you?" Haya asked her father directly.

Haya's father's family gives them time to talk.

They just prepared the lunch while Gil and Haya are talking.

They are both sitting now in the living room while talking about the problem of Gil.

“So Sir Haris already gave you the fund you needed? Your company was saved from shutting down. So

why still you need my help to save the company? “Haya asked his father.

Gil explain everything to his daughter Haya.

“The owners of the companies under H & A Summit Holdings, Inc. are only relatives and close friends

of Sir Haris who all belong from upper class society; they only wanted business partners or company

owners that are also from the society where they belong. They don't want to accept anyone who is not

related to any one of them like Gil to belong to H & A Summit Holdings, Inc. They suggest that if I

wants to belong in H & A Summit Holdings, Inc., any of my son or daughter will marry anyone who

belongs to H & A Summit Holdings, Inc.” Gil explained.

“Why you chooses me? Why you don’t just choose Ena or Ted?” Haya asked in disgust.

“Because they are both married. You’re the only one who is not.” Gil answered.

“You just agreed to them without consulting me whether I will agree or not.” Haya asked.

“I agreed to them and signed the contract. Because our company needs fund badly. It can't wait for you

to regain your memory. So they all agreed to accept our company to become part of the H & A Summit

Holdings, Inc. and release the fund for our company to be saved but it is accompanied with one

condition. Their condition is: I will sign an agreement. On that agreement, it is indicated that in

exchange of the subsidiaries that I will get from H&A Summit Holdings, Inc. I will agree that you will

marry anyone who belongs to H & A Summit Holdings, Inc. when you know that you is my long lost

daughter. And if I didn't fulfill what is asked on the agreement our company will be taken by H & A

Summit Holdings, Inc. and this will be given to the other business partner to manage. In short, our

ownership with our own company will be terminated. That means I will totally lost our company. And I

can't afford losing our company. Haya please help me." Gil's said begging to her daughter Haya.

“Alright. I will but in exchange for my help you're going to help those people who saved me when I was

lost in Asian country. They need me to help them also with their financial needs." Haya said.

"Yes I will do that Haya. Thank you for listening to me." Gil said in a glad voice.

“But may I know who that man I will marry?" Haya asked.

Gil’s remember what Haris said. Haris, ordered his relatives and friends not to tell it to Atif until the date

of the marriage was set. So Gil’s decided not to tell it also to Haya that Atif is the man that she is about

to marry. He is afraid that Haya might tell him and the plan of Haris will ruin.

"I still don't know Haya. They said they are still choosing who will fit the position. Then after they made

a decision they will tell me." Gil answered.

"Okay. Just tell me when you already know. By the way I'm leaving." Haya said, then stood up and

prepared to leave.

“Are you not going to eat your lunch here?" Gil asked in a sad voice.

“You heard what I have said right?" Haya answer.

"Alright. I will drive you home." Gil said.

“No need. I can manage. Just inform me when the wedding day is. And don't ask me to come around

here in the next few days I will be busy. I will start working on Monday." Haya said without looking to his

father. She is on her way out the door.

“Okay. Take care." Gil said.

Then when Haya hears that her father agreed to what she said she walks away and leaves without

looking back to his father.

Haya doesn't know how she managed to come home.

Her mind is full of questions.

Who will be that man she is about to marry?

Can she handle that situation being married to someone she doesn't know?

Her heart is full of pain because Haya thinks that her father was glad to see her because she can help

him save his company.

Haya chose to help his father because she wanted to help her family in Asian country.

She wanted to help her grandmother Elsa.

Haya thinks that is the only consolation she can get from this agreement.

But she felt so sad because if she is married to someone else here she cannot go back to Asian

country. She is sad because she wants her life there rather than going back to her old life here.

But she had no choice but to help her father save the company because that company belonged to her

grandparents before. Haya knew how their grandparents value that company.
