Chapter 93
Chapter 93
Brandon’s Pov
I kept tapping on the tablet, expecting her to pick up the phone, but she never did. I gave her a simple
task to switch to her phone, but it appeared like I gave her a lengthy task. I looked at my watch and
noted that ten minutes had elapsed. Maybe she was attempting to avoid the subject of sex.
She always did that every time I brought up the subject of sex, she always acted like a pregnant virgin,
but at the absolute least she would have said something or said goodbye, after all, she was the one
who phoned me. I clenched my teeth, annoyed, and attempted to contact her line again but I was
unable to do so.
I could only presume her phone was turned off or that she had forgotten to charge it. That woman was
incredibly s*oppy with anything that had nothing to do with me.
Yes, she was stunning, even during her pregnancy, and the wisest person on the planet, but she was
also a little irresponsible. I decided to call the house telephone line but it went on ringing and ringing
until I got tired.
The useless machine h*oked to me was killing me and the dumb girl was not answering the phone.
How difficult was it to answer a dumb phone, I almost yelled but calmed myself down and rang the
phone again but there was no response. That was so unlike her, she was eager to video call me until
dawn. Maybe she got tired but that was not making sense, because she had just brought up a very
important topic of a Nanny.
Our nameless child needed a Nanny and Magie was the only one I would trust to leave our princes with
but the old woman got h*rny out of nowhere. And I was very sure her lover was after the huge cheques
that I gave her and was probably younger.
I could not believe she betrayed us for sex, I was going to make her feel guilty and force her to dump
him. First I needed to carry out an investigation on the Winfred guy. He sounded like a homeless
person or a Janitor. Or even worse a terrorist, Nestor was supposed to inform but he decided to keep
such news from us and now we had no nanny. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
But first I needed to get Thalia to answer the phone. It was over twenty minutes and she would have
answered or charged her phone a bit. On second thought something was wrong, from being angry I
became worried, she was almost due, maybe she was in labor, some women went into labor at seven
or eight months.
I quickly tried to get up but the thousands of machines that I was h*oked to pulled me back to reality
and I cried out in pain. I did a double-check and every tube was intact.
I promptly dialed Nestor’s number and instructed him to return to the house to check on her. He’d just
dropped Maggie off at her house and was on his way to the lobster shop. He insisted that if he did not
return with a pack of lobsters, Thalia was going to have his head, but I roared at him.
I had a feeling things were not quite right, something was definitely wrong. He offered to contact her,
assuming we had gotten into an argument, I rolled my eyes at his attempt of always acting like our
father.
He thought she had decided to block me or not answer the phone at home. But when he tried to call
her he received no response. He finally consented to go to the house, although a lot of time had
passed.
I started berating myself for not taking her silence and inability to reach the phone seriously enough.
Even if she wasn’t in labor, there was a chance someone had broken into the house and attacked her. I
had not yet set up security and I was reluctant and thought with Victor out of the country there was no
need to hurry. But it was looking like that was going to bite me in the a*s.
I began panicking and all of a sudden my face became sweaty. The useless machines began beeping
and flashing. The doctor and his lab rats came running like some bees protecting its beehive from
enemies.
“Calm down, Mr. Fraser, what’s going on?” he asked.
“Thalia,” I replied and they all looked at me like I was some dumb criminal but they decided to play it
cool.
“I’m sure she is just sleeping or something you can call her tomorrow,” the doctor replied.
“No she is not okay, something is wrong and I can feel it. She is not picking up my calls!” I yelled at
him.
“Please calm down, I will try calling her,” he said and dialed her line. I noted he gave a signal but before
I could realize what was going on, one of his lab rats got a needle and p*icked me without warning.
“Are you s*upid!” I yelled at him. “What did you just stick into me?”
“Mr. Fraser we are just trying to help you, you have to be in stable condition for the procedure, if not
then the machine will kill you,” he replied.
“I do not care about the s*upid machine! Didn’t you hear what I just said! Thalia is probably in labor!” I
yelled.
“Mr. Nestor would have informed you?” he replied.
“He is not with her, you fools, she is alone and not answering the phone and you just pumped drugs in
me?”
They looked at me confused like I was speaking a foreign language. “You are all f*cking fired, all of
you, pack your dumb things and leave!”
“Okay let’s not get ahead of ourselves, what’s the address so that we can send the police or an
ambulance,” he suggested.
For the first time in the five minutes he had been pumping me with s*it, he spoke sense. I wondered
why I did not even think of it in the first place. I quickly gave him the address and he dialed 911. I
began feeling a little bit dizzy, the s*upid drugs began working.
The doctor hung up the phone and assured me the police were going to check up on Thalia but I only
cursed. My blood pressure seemed to have been stabilized and the machines stopped beeping. But the
bad news was that I was slowly falling asleep. “P*p the shit out of me, I have to be awake… I need to
make sure she is alright,” I ordered him.
But the s*upid doctor only nodded and promised to make sure he found out everything. I wanted to hit
him so badly but I had energy and before I knew it I could barely keep my eyes open. I was knocked
out cold and I had no idea how many hours passed when I came round but I could tell it was morning.
My head hurt, it always hurt in the morning. I quickly tried to get up, all I could think about was Thalia
but my body felt like it was a heavy rock. The s*upid machine was still h*oked to me. I lifted my head in
search of anyone who was in the room but I was alone.
I tried to search for my tablet but it was nowhere in sight, the s*upid doctor probably moved it. I quickly
pushed the dumb alert button and the doctor came running in. All I wanted to hear was good news or
else I was going to burst his head open.
“Where is my dumb tablet?” I asked him
“Mr. Fraser how… are you…feeling?” he stuttered.
I took a breather as I grabbed the tablet out of his hand. As soon as I turned it on I could see hundreds
of missed calls from Nestor and my heart sank in.
“Please Mr. Fraser, you have to watch your blood pressure,” he warned.
“Just shut up and leave me alone,” I said in a low voice. He stared at me and noted how serious I was.
“I just want to keep your blood pressure at normal levels. You dying because you are worried about
Miss Thalia is not going to help her,” he stated.
“I swear if you do not get your ugly face out of my sight, I will unplug this s*upid machine! I have the
right to deny this s*it,” I declared.
Noticing that I was serious, he quickly disappeared through the door. I dialed Nestor and he answered
in seconds. He was talking too fast and trying to shield things from me but I yelled at him.
“Boss, all I know is that she is in theater and no one is saying anything to me,” he replied.
“What do you mean? What happened?”
“I just found her on the floor, there was blood everywhere and she was unresponsive. I tried to call you
but Dr. Wilson said you were asleep. I was only lucky the police ambulance arrived the minute I found
her,” he replied.
I began startling, she was fine and did not complain of anything. “What are the doctors saying?” I asked
again but he had no data. I could tell he was blaming himself for leaving her but he had done nothing
wrong.
Thalia was the one who was trying her best to make his life miserable and sent him to buy lobster in
the middle of the night. But there was no time to blame her. I pressed the alert button and the doctor
came rushing. I cleared my throat and asked him if he had doctor friends at the hospital. He nodded
with a yes and made a call.
From his facial expressions, I could tell something was wrong. He hung up and cleared his throat,
“Thalia just had a caesarian… she had Placental abruption,” he replied and I just stared at him. I had
no idea what the last part meant so I just stared at him.
“Sorry Brandon, it is a serious condition in which the placenta starts to come away from the inside of
the womb wall. If it happens close to the baby’s due date, the baby is delivered immediately through C-
section.”
“Is she okay? Is the baby okay?”
“She lost a lot of blood both during the surgery and at home, but they stabilized her,” he replied. I
waited for him to say something about the baby but he only looked down.
“Wilson, what about the baby?” I asked. He was very irritating when he treated me like an egg that
could not handle any bad news.
“They are doing additional tests on the baby, something is wrong with her liver,” he replied.
I placed my tablet away and sank in my bed, I had succeeded in passing my bad luck on the innocent
baby I thought to myself.
“I would only urge you to be strong, the doctors at St Louis are the best and they will do everything to
save the baby,” he stated but I only turned and faced the other side. The baby was probably paying for
my sins, I was the one that came up with the idea to steal the sperms, I manipulated Thalia into
agreeing to have the baby when she was clearly not ready.
She was forced to choose between me and the baby and she chose me, spending all her time on that
s*upid machine instead of going to all her doctor’s appointments. And now I was getting saved while
the baby was dying.
“All I can advise you is to stay calm for Thalia and the baby,” he added.
I turned and asked him if I looked like I was panicking. He nodded and I asked him to leave me alone. I
got my tablet and updated Nestor. I ordered him to look for the best Hepatologist in the country and to
check on thalia. I could only imagine the amount of guilt that she was feeling.
