The Apple of My Eye

Chapter 2150 The Token

Chapter 2150 The Token

"Rob" took a glance at Charles and then at Vicky before approaching Vicky.

Compared with Charles, the air around Vicky seemed to be much fresher, and the pressure was much

less.

Meanwhile, "Ferry," who had stayed where he was, was more nervous. His body was still shaking as

he didn't know what was waiting for him.

Vicky nodded at Charles. "Okay, give me half a day. I promise to give you back the real 'Rob.'"

"Go ahead," Charles said.

After they left, Charles raised his head and looked at the man in front of him who couldn't stop

trembling. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Let's go." Charles strode towards the inner room.

"Ferry" immediately ran after him, not daring to say a word.

In the basement

Rob was being tormented so badly that his body was covered in bruises, and his clothes were ragged.

There were scars on his face, both old and new ones.

Even then, he wouldn't tell the truth. No matter how much he was questioned, he refused to tell them

anything about the antidote.

A man in black with crew-cut hair was on the verge of breaking down. He had interrogated more than

ten prisoners here. It usually didn't take long for them to give up. But none of them had as much

endurance as Rob did.

"Tinsel, I think we need to tell the boss the truth. If we continue like this, he won't survive. Boss doesn't

want that," another man in black said worriedly.

The man with crew-cut hair was Tinsel. He agreed with what his companion said. After all, his boss

attached great importance to Rob. If they killed him, they wouldn't get away with it, and they would

need to take responsibility for it.

Just as he was hesitating, he heard a set of familiar footsteps from above.

Hearing that, Tinsel straightened up. He didn't have to worry about it any longer because his boss was

here.

A few moments later, Charles appeared at the door of the basement.

The two greeted Charles with much respect, "Boss."

Charles waved at them as he approached Rob.

Rob was pretty tired. He was resting, keeping his eyes closed. When he heard the footsteps, he

opened them.

"You're finally here. Ha-ha!" Rob said, chuckling as he looked at Charles.

His voice was harsh and raspy.

Charles kept his gaze on him and waited for him to stop laughing. He asked, "Where's the antidote?"

"I'll give you the antidote as soon as my boss is released," Rob replied with a grim smile.

Charles squinted at Rob without saying anything.

This made Rob lower his head, but even then, he still refused to tell Charles where the antidote was.

"How about we make a deal? I'll trade my boss's life for your son's. You have nothing to lose." Rob

smiled proudly again.

"Deal," Charles answered briefly.

"You... You agree?" Rob said excitedly.

"But how can I make sure that you have the antidote?" Charles asked abruptly as he leaned forward.

After a moment's hesitation, Rob smiled cunningly, "It's easy. Give me your cell phone. I'll make a call

to ask someone to give your son half of the antidote, and then his condition will improve. With the other

half, he'll be cured."

Charles felt a little excited inside, but he didn't show it on his face. He already knew this but since Rob

had confirmed it, he knew then that the antidote really did work.

"Okay." Charles then nodded at Tinsel.

Tinsel hurriedly handed the phone to Rob, who slowly took it and made a phone call as expected.

The others kept an eye on him. Rob didn't try to hide anything, and he put the phone on speaker.

"Hey, it's me, Rob. Please deliver the antidote to... Where should I deliver it to?" he asked.

"The General Hospital. Someone will be waiting for you there," Charles said.

"Right, you hear that? Half of the antidote, be careful and deliver it to the hospital right now," said Rob.

After hanging up the phone, Rob added, "My people will show up at the hospital soon with the antidote.

Don't play any tricks, or you won't get the other half. You've probably already checked the poison. It's

no longer available on the market, and this is the last antidote I have."

"Don't worry. I will do what I have promised you," Charles said.

"Well, when will you get my boss out?"

"It's not easy to get a person out of prison. I have to use some connections. In fact, I have already

made a few calls before I came to see you. I will inform you by tomorrow afternoon at the latest,"

Charles said, trying to be patient.

Upon hearing this, Rob was very happy. "Okay, as long as you can save my boss, I'll give you the

antidote. But there's another thing you need to do."

"What is it?"

"When you see my boss, I want a token from him, so I'll know you're not lying."

"A token? Like what?"

"You tell my boss that I asked you to go to him then you tell him what happened. He'll understand you

right away and give you the token."

"Okay,"

Charles sneered before leaving.

Rob was indeed a capable and resourceful man. Charles was impressed.

Charles immediately called Sheryl and told her about the antidote. Sheryl was naturally very happy.

Charles then dialed another number. "How is it going?"

"Charles, I'm almost done with the training. When do you want him?"

"Right now."

"This soon?"

"Yes, the sooner, the better. Rob suspects that I'm lying to him. He asked me to meet Ferry and bring

him a token from Ferry so that he'll believe me."

"Token? Rob is very scheming. You must be careful."

"Okay, bring him to me."

After hanging up the phone, Charles' face softened.

In the prison

Ferry showed up in the visiting room and sat on his chair as usual. He looked at Rob and asked, "How

is it going?"

"Boss, Charles' son was poisoned. He is going to die. Charles promised me that he's going to get you

out of here as soon as possible, but I don't trust him."

"Yes, Charles is a scheming man. He has always been cold-blooded and selfish in the business world.

You must be careful with him," Ferry replied.

"Boss, Charles refuses to believe that I work for you, and he wants a token from you as evidence," Rob

said.

"What token?" Ferry looked at Rob in confusion.
