Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 54
Chapter 54 Successful Signing
Feeling optimistic, Farrah decided to sit beside Mark, beaming as she replied, “Mr. Lovelace, I work at Prestige Group now and have truly experienced its corporate culture. It’s not something just any company can match.” Her voice was eamest as she spoke.
“And the biggest reason? If you sign the contract with Mr. Locke today, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy your stay in Ronson City! Otherwise, you’ll be meeting one person today and another tomorrow, dealing with countless headaches without knowing who might end up offended.”
Adrian couldn’t help but admire her audacity, his perception of her shifting dramatically. Not only was she helping him, but she was also taking the initiative–a surprising move.
Mark nodded thoughtfully. “That makes sense.” He turned his gaze to Adrian and said warmly, “Let’s proceed as Farrah suggested. Mr. Locke, why don’t we finalize the contract now?”
Adrian appeared calm but was internally thrilled. He gestured to another project leader, who passed over two copies of the contract. Mark’s assistant took them and began to flip through the pages.
With her mission accomplished, Farrah stood up and smiled gently. “You all continue your discussion. I’ll go to the restroom.”
As she slipped away, her heart raced wildly in her chest. Gosh! Here she was, a completely uninvolved woman, boldly sharing her thoughts in a high–stakes situation she barely understood.
She had no idea what the nature of this project was! It was even the first time she’d heard of its name. But thankfully, Mark had agreed, and it felt surreal–like a dream. She took a moment in the restroom to calm her racing thoughts.
Meanwhile, outside, the contract signing proceeded swiftly. Adrian glanced toward the restroom door occasionally, concerned about her delay. His focus had unwittingly divided, with half of his mind on her. Before long, a knock echoed from the restroom door, startling Farrah. “Who’s there?”
“Are you okay?” Adrian’s voice came through, laced with concem. “Are you having a stomach upset?”
“No,” she hurriedly opened the door, bumping right into his deep–set gaze. “Has the signing been completed?” NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Adrian stood outside, exuding a calm nobility as he nodded slightly. “Yes, the contract has been signed. Mark wants to catch up with you. We’re preparing to head back to the office, but I can send someone to pick you up if you need.”
“You’re leaving just like this?” Farrah asked, surprised. “Aren’t you taking him out for a meal?”
“There’s a dinner set up later. The hospitality arrangements are already taken care of. Don’t worry about it, Adrian answered patiently. “He just wants to reminisce with you right now.”
“Okay.” She nodded, relieved. “Then, you all go ahead. Don’t mind me.”
Adrian glanced at her. He was filled with gratitude but opted not to voice it in front of everyone. There would be time for private words later.
As Farrah stepped out of the restroom, she watched Adrian and the others leave.
“Fay, Mark called out, and she turned back, walking toward him once more.
“Mr. Lovelace, how have you been lately? How’s your sleep?”
“Pretty well,” Mark replied, relaxed and wearing a constant smile that contrasted sharply with his earlier serious demeanor. “Has Mr. Dunn returned from his travels? I’d like to visit him.”
She shook her head, sadness creeping into her voice. “Not yet. I haven’t seen him in a long time either.”
“His care was invaluable when my mother was ill. She has completely recovered now, thanks to him,” Mark remarked, showing his character. He was someone who always repaid the kindness he received.
