Chapter 239
Chapter 239:
The memory of his teeth grazing my neck was still fresh, still burning. My body was too weak to fight, but my mind screamed in protest. “No. No. No.”
I thrashed against the chains, the rough metal biting into my wrists, my ankles. My muscles screamed with the effort, my breaths coming in ragged gasps. The pain didn’t matter. I had to fight. I couldn’t let this happen.
But it was useless. My strength was gone, drained by Veilroot and betrayal.
Jason’s cold fingers gripped my chin, forcing my head to the side. His breath was hot and foul against my skin. My stomach twisted in revulsion.
“You can’t stop this,” he whispered, his voice dripping with sadistic pleasure. “You’re mine now.”
A sob broke free from my chest, my vision swimming with tears. This was it. The end of everything I was. Everything Ryder and I could have been.
But just as his teeth grazed my skin again, a voice, sharp and defiant, sliced through the air. “Get away from her!”
The door slammed open, and the sound cracked like a gunshot through the suffocating tension. Jason’s grip loosened for a fraction of a second, and my head lolled forward, my eyes straining to see through the haze. A figure stood in the doorway. My heart twisted painfully. Ryder?
The air was suffocating as we closed in on the Silverclaw territory. The scent of fear, blood, and treachery hung thick in the air, a cocktail that churned my stomach and sent Ace into a frenzy. Every instinct screamed at me to move faster, to rip through anyone in my way, to find Jasmine now. The thought of her bound, broken, and betrayed had my vision blurring with rage.
Enzo and his warriors followed silently, their presence deadly and precise. Despite my loathing for him and his condescending smirk, I was grateful they were here. If Luna Anna thought she could keep Jasmine under lock and key, she was about to learn that even the strongest chains break under the weight of a vengeful pack.
Kade moved beside me, his eyes sharp, scanning every shadow and rustle in the trees. He didn’t say it out loud, but I knew he was thinking the same thing as me—we’re running out of time.noveldrama
“She’s still alive,” Ace reassured me, though his voice trembled with the same desperation gnawing at my soul.

“She has to be.”
We reached the edge of the Silverclaw compound. The perimeter was guarded, as expected, wolves pacing with an air of false confidence. They had no idea what was coming for them. Enzo raised a brow at me, his expression an infuriating mix of doubt and curiosity. “Ready, Alpha?” he drawled, as if this were a game and not life or death. His condescension scraped against my last nerve. I clenched my jaw, refusing to rise to his bait. “Let’s end this.”
He smirked, eyes gleaming with vicious excitement. “With pleasure.” In a flash, we descended on the guards. Chaos erupted as claws met flesh, and the screams of the Silverclaw wolves echoed through the night. My body moved on pure instinct, Ace taking the reins. We were a storm of fury and violence, every strike fueled by the thought of Jasmine—her pain, her terror, her betrayal.
A wolf lunged at me, but I twisted, feeling the satisfying crunch of bone as I drove him to the ground. He didn’t get back up. My breaths came in ragged gasps, but I didn’t stop. Couldn’t stop.
I kicked down the main door of the compound, splintering the wood. My heart thundered in my chest, a drumbeat of desperation. The hallways were a labyrinth of shadows and lies, but Jasmine’s scent—faint, poisoned, but still hers—guided me like a beacon.
“Ryder!” Kade’s voice was a sharp command. “Third door on the left!” I didn’t hesitate. I crashed through the door, my eyes immediately locking on the nightmare in front of me.
Jasmine.
She was slumped in a chair, chains biting into her wrists and ankles. Her usually fierce eyes were dull, tears staining her cheeks. Her head hung forward, a curtain of tangled hair hiding her face. Her wolf, Layla, was a broken whisper in the back of my mind, as if the connection between them had been severed. My heart cracked open. Rage, guilt, and helplessness twisted together in a toxic spiral. This is my fault.
