Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1318

Chapter 1318:

The warmth from his palm, combined with the olive oil, seemed to seep into her very being. Eileen wiped her hands clean, regarding Bryan through half-lidded eyes. “Let’s move to another house.”

Bryan soon understood her thoughts. “You want to bring everyone together for Christmas?”

“Yeah.” Eileen nodded. This was the best solution she could come up with. The Dawson Mansion would make Ruby and Leyla uncomfortable, while having Stella here would also unsettle her. A new environment might put everyone at ease.

Bryan considered for a moment. “There’s a 300-square-meter single-floor place in the eastern suburbs. It has been furnished since our wedding, but we haven’t used it yet. We could relocate there for holidays and festivals while maintaining our separate living arrangements the rest of the time.”

Eileen knew Bryan owned numerous properties—so many that even he likely lost count. But this particular place piqued her curiosity. “When did you buy this large, single-floor place?”

“That area is known for its convenience,” Bryan explained. “It has many amenities, including a hospital within the community. The place is more suitable for the elderly.”noveldrama

Eileen’s brow furrowed in confusion. “You… You bought it for Stella?”

But Stella had lived in the Dawson Mansion her entire life. As she aged, modifications had been made in the Dawson Mansion to accommodate her needs. Why would she want to live elsewhere?

Bryan’s lips curled into a faint smile as he looked at Eileen, his eyes narrowing slightly. “Actually, I bought it for my own retirement.”

Eileen was rendered momentarily speechless.

“It was part of Jacob’s real estate project,” Bryan continued nonchalantly. “I asked him to set aside the best place for me. Three hundred square meters might seem small for a big family gathering, but when it’s just the two of us, it’ll be more than enough. And the extra rooms? Those will be for our kids when they come visit.” He had given this considerable thought. The space there would be more than enough for them.

Bryan added with a teasing glint in his eye, “But you can only have this one more child. Any more, and we won’t have enough rooms.”

Eileen rolled her eyes. “Have you booked a burial plot, too?” she quipped.

To Eileen, contemplating retirement at thirty seemed utterly ridiculous. Bryan might as well reserve a plot at the cemetery while he was at it!

However, Bryan seemed surprised. “You went into my study?”

Eileen said, “What do you mean? You actually bought it?” Bryan realized she had just been joking.

Bryan sighed in relief, but Eileen’s clear eyes sparkled. Clearly, Bryan had been exposed.

“I’ve acquired the northernmost mountain in Onaland, which boasts a stunning environment with seaside views and mountainous surroundings. The government initially earmarked it for development, but I swooped in and purchased it. They had to find another place,” Bryan explained.

He wasn’t exactly hiding it from Eileen; he just hadn’t found the right moment to tell her about it. After all, mentioning her future burial site would be a major conversation killer.

Eileen’s lips twitched. “Doesn’t the Dawson family have a family cemetery?”
