Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1257

Chapter 1257:

The restaurant Bryan chose wasn’t very close to the company, but the dishes there suited Eileen’s tastes perfectly. They arrived at the restaurant around noon, during the lunch rush, and a crowd was already gathered at the entrance.

A waiter escorted Eileen and Bryan to their table, which offered a view of the sea and was situated in a tranquil part of the restaurant.

Just as Eileen was about to place her order, a waiter approached. “Excuse me, Mr. Dawson, Mrs. Dawson. Two people at the entrance claimed to know you and asked if they could join your table.”

“No,” Bryan replied without hesitation.

“What are their last names?” Eileen inquired, concerned that if the people were Phoebe and Jacob, Bryan’s refusal might affect their friendship.

The waiter stepped out to check and then returned in less than ten seconds. “They said both their surnames are Meyer.”

Eileen rolled her eyes at Bryan, sighing as she said, “Fine, let them come over. We can share a table.”

“Alright, thank you. I appreciate your kindness,” the waiter responded before going off to ask the two people to come in.

Eileen put the menu aside, preparing to order when Phoebe and Jacob were supposed to join her. However, instead of the two she had expected, Colby and Presley walked in.

Without hesitation, Colby pulled out a chair and took a seat. Presley looked a bit hesitant but, after a moment’s pause, settled down across from Eileen.

“It’s truly an honor to be dining with you today,” Colby said to Eileen and Bryan with a smirk.

Bryan’s expression turned cold. “Quite the honor indeed, considering you had to change your last name just to sit with us.”

Presley cast an uneasy glance at Colby but remained silent.

Colby chuckled, brushing off the comment. “It’s fate that we can have lunch together. Besides, Mr. Dawson, if I weren’t here, you and my wife would never get the chance to sit at the same table.”

“I’m afraid we’ll have to pass on your company. Kindly take your wife and leave; we’re not interested in having lunch with you.” Eileen’s gaze hardened, annoyance building inside her. To her, Colby was nothing more than a fool.

“It’s my treat,” Colby said casually. Then, he signaled to Presley.

Presley turned, her voice low as she spoke. “Raymond, get the waiter here. We’ll order now.”

It was then that Eileen noticed Raymond standing quietly in the corner, dressed in his usual suit and tie. The once confident special assistant now looked like a shadow of his former self, his posture slumped.

“Understood,” Raymond said, summoning the waiter and presenting the menu to Presley.

Colby and Presley both seemed quite smug.

“By the way, Mr. Dawson, I heard you’ve lost quite a few projects recently. What a pity,” Colby said, tapping his fingers on the table rhythmically. “You must have lost a lot of money, right? Makes my heart ache just thinking about it. So please, don’t hold back today. You can order whatever you want. I happen to have earned a lot of money recently.”

Eileen was disgusted by Colby’s words, her appetite vanishing completely.
