Chapter 1205
Chapter 1205:
The bathroom was filled with steam, and Eileen’s senses heightened in the confined space. Her voice trembled with each ripple of water, and she felt herself gradually slipping into a dreamlike state…
At the Deleon family home, Presley tossed Jacob’s coat into the trash can by the gate. Unbeknownst to her, Colby witnessed the act from inside. As soon as Presley entered, Colby descended the stairs, his face a mask of displeasure.
“Why are you back so late? Where have you been?” Colby asked.
Presley slipped off her stilettos, sparing him a glance. “A classmate gathering,” she replied.noveldrama
Her eyes blazed with anger as she took in her damp clothes. “Then what happened to your clothes?”
“Someone accidentally spilled coffee on me,” Presley explained. “I tried to wash it off in the bathroom, but it only made the stain worse.” She shivered, wrapping her arms around herself. “I’m freezing. Step aside so I can go upstairs and change. If it weren’t for the cold weather, I would never have accepted Jacob’s coat.”
It wasn’t Bryan’s, after all.
“How can you behave like this?” Colby’s face remained dark as he spoke. “You’re my wife now. Our Deleon family has a reputation to uphold. Why are you associating with people who mean nothing to you?”
Recent rumors involving Bryan and Presley had left Colby on edge, deepening his current frustration.
“I used to be their teacher, okay?” Presley snapped, attempting to sidestep him. “Get out of my way!”

She reached for his arm but jerked back, nearly losing her balance. Presley managed to grasp the railing, but in the process, a red mark on her chest was exposed.
Presley’s clothes were already soaked, so she hastily pulled them up, shivering from the cold. Before she could react, Colby slapped her across the face. The villa fell silent in an instant.
Presley stumbled backward, covering her face, and fell against the wall. Her hair tumbled over her face, but she peeked through the strands, her eyes wide with fear, fixed on Colby.
“Presley, I gave you a chance before,” Colby exclaimed. He grabbed her clothes and demanded, “What is this?” He jabbed his finger at the red mark on her chest. “Who did this to you?”
The red mark was just a minor burn from the hot coffee, and Colby’s repeated pokes made it throb with pain.
“Colby, you promised that if you hit me again, we’d get a divorce!” Presley said, her voice shaking. She pushed Colby’s hand away and adjusted her clothing to cover the sore spot.
This wasn’t the first time Colby had hit her.
She didn’t love him, and her coldness toward him, after years of marriage, had only fueled his growing temper. During a trip, she had refused his request for sex, citing illness, and he had brutally beaten her, breaking one of her ribs.
She had spent over two weeks in the hospital because of that. If not for Javier’s intervention, she would have divorced Colby right then.
Colby had sworn never to lay a hand on her again and promised they would divorce if he ever did.
