Shouldn't Have Kissed You

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Maya folded her clothes into her small travel bag. She couldn't believe that this day had arrived. But it

was here and she couldn't do anything to stop it. Not with her mother in law down stairs waiting for

them.

But wasn't she supposed to be happy? If not for her honeymoon just like any other normal couple do

but for her own break. She was supposed to be happy since she was going to take a break from the

hospital, but she wasn't.

In fact, her heart was bleeding out. It was hurting so much that she wished she wasn't born. All her life,

that has been her wish. To never have existed but if wishes where horses, then beggars would be

riding on them.6

She wondered what her purpose was on this world. Everyone has a purpose to fulfill in this world but

hers, hers was to bring pain. Pain to people even without her wanting to. At least, that's what her dad

made her see while growing up.

To feel the pain she caused him. To feel her curse in this world as she was told by him. She was

cursed, of course, if not, why was she always the rejected one? The one who was always left behind?

The most hated human being in this world? Why?10

She took her summer dress, the one she had cat walked in the last round to fold it. It was beautiful and

she couldn't help but smile looking at it. It was the one thing that had made her feel strong. Strong

enough to face her dear husband.

The one that made Chris's blood boil when he saw her smile. She knew at that time that he wanted to

strangle her to death but he couldn't do anything. Nothing but fake a smile and give a fake speech.

How did she know it was fake? He clammed how much he loved her and how much she inspired him to

start the line while in real sense, she disgusted him. She made him want to vomit his own intestines

out.

That's how much he hates her. That's how much he wants her out of his life. She walked towards her

suitcase and returned the dress there. She just felt that it was best not to bring out events of the last

week.

To her, she preferred to let the sleeping dogs lie. Maya went back to her packing and when she was

done, she zipped her bag and sat on the bed. It was better to let mother and son have a conversation.

Mother. That word. How she wished she had her own. How she wished that she had met her just once

in her life. To see her photo if not. But no, she didn't know how she even looked. She was clueless as

she is now.6

The only person who talked about her was her brother. He was the one who was kind enough to tell her

that she looked like their mum and if ever she wanted a photo, she was the photocopy of her. 'So,

whenever you want to see mum, walk to the vanity mirror and look at your reflection, and there, only

there, will you see her. At times I envy you because you got all her looks. '

That's what her brother would say and she would feel better. She missed him so much that the pain in

her chest just increased. He was her hero. Her Knight and shinning armor. The one who understood

her better than anyone. If only he was around.

Around when she needed him the most. Around to protect her from this marriage. Around to stop her

dad from this madness. Around to hug her tight and tell her that everything will be alright. That's what

she needed for her bleeding heart.

To feel protected and to be given guidance. But no, it's like the earth had swallowed him never to be

seen or heard again. It wasn't fair at all. Fair that she was born in all riches, yet, she suffered like she

had nothing.3

At least, poor people have one another to love and protect. When she had no one. Not even her

college best friend was around. She didn't come back as she had promised. Instead, Kayle had stayed

behind to enjoy herself knowing very well that Maya needed her to be around.3

"Jezebel," she didn't move as she stared at the space.

Maya heard her whole body being pushed to the hard floor her knees this time hitting the floor first. She

felt the pain move to her whole body making her nub. It hurt but not the way her heart did. If anyone

could get a hurt disease from the pain they felt, then she would be dead already.2

"How dare you?" He asked moving to push her more towards the floor with no carpet.

Maya looked up, "what have I done this time?" Her voice broke as she spoke. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Chris let go of her hand,"you dare ask me that, you devil? Who gave you the audacity to seat on my,

my bed crying on it?"6

Of course, she was crying and she hasn't even realized that. Who wouldn't anyway with a life like that?

She moved her palms slowly to her face and wiped her tears away. She then moved to look at her

knees and thanks to carpet, there was no bruises.

She then looked up to him for the first time since he stepped inside the room. He wore dark Blue Jeans

and a black tee shirt that she wondered if he was going to board like that. It's not like he looked bad in

fact, he was very much handsome with his hazel eyes that were now blue because of his anger

towards her.

The pain stuck again but this time, she ignored her heart. Her mind was screaming at her, telling her

that he, he had no right. No right to hurt her the way he did. No right to bully her the way he was doing.

She opened her mouth to give him her piece of mind but she never got to speak.2

"Take your butt outside," he said moving to take his bag from the closet that she had no idea when he

packed.

She got up as she was asked or rather commanded and walked to the bathroom. She wasn't about to

show her mother in law how unhappy she was by her dear son's side. After she was done, she took her

bag from the floor and stepped outside walking down stairs to the living room.

"Where is she?" Maya heard Bernice ask.

"Ooh momma!" Chris deep voice spoke up as she walked to the last stairs, "you ask as if you've no

idea of how long you women take to get ready."

Bernice was about to reply to her son when she saw Maya approach. She moved so that she could

meet her at the center. Once they exchanged hugs for God knew how many times they had hugged

that same day. She moved away walking to where her son stood.

"Passport?" she began looking at both of them.

"Checked," Chris answered showing his.

Maya did the same and Bernice went on with visa and everything that was important for their trip. Once

everything was checked, the chauffeur walked in and took their bags to the car.

Bernice walked them outside with Alma. They hugged the kids one more time with tears in their eyes.

"Please take care of each other. I've already booked a room for you in Hilton Hotel once you get there.

Make sure you call once you get there and when you get back from your honeymoon, I want to be 'a

soon to be grandma'" she said quoting in the air.

Chris nodded his head not saying a word. He pecked his mother's cheek and walked towards the

waiting car. Maya would have given anything to know what he was thinking after his mother's word but

instead, she pecked both women and followed her husband behind.

She waved to them before the car was out of the mansion.

"Please take us to Never Again Hotel," Chris said to the driver.6

Maya looked at him. They had driven for twenty minutes without a word to each other and the first thing

to say is that? She wanted to ask why but the driver did it.

"But Sir, we were heading to the airport. At least those where your mother's instructions."

Maya watched Chris's hand fold into a fist and she could tell that his knuckles did hurt from the look of

it.

"Do you want to keep this job?"

That's all that it took for them to be in Never Again Hotel. They were going to stay their one week

honeymoon in the country something that Bernice had no idea off.

"This way please," one of the receptionist said taking their bags to the room that apparently, Chris

booked week ago.

The walked to the last floor of the building and into a penthouse that Maya had no time to have a look

at as there was a knock at the door.

She was about to go and open when Chris bit her to it.

"I'm glad you could make it darling," Chris said kissing a woman and stepping aside for her to walk in.1

From her black high heels to her white dress that reached mid thigh dress Maya couldn't believe her

eyes when she met the one face she couldn't have expected at all. But there she was, in flesh. Since

her tongue was tight, her mind called her name.
