Rejecting The Alpha Twins (Regan)

My Twins Baby 47

Navier POV

"I have news" My fuber is nervously adjusting the rollar on his shirr as we stand there, looking at him expectedly.

"Well? What is " I asked pointedly.

Whatever it is it's enough to make him nervous and that means important I glance at my brother who has evidently come to the same conclusion

He exhales slowly. "The elders are coming, and I'm being put orial for the death of your mother, Luna Jennifer be confessed slowly as we stared at him horrified

"What" I exploded, "you killed her to rescue our mate and to prevent her from killing us. What right do the elders have to interfere in such manners?" I demanded icily.

Trust the elders to interfere in business that was not any of theirs. It was infuriating to think of how much time they would waste, doing a trial for something that was justified, putting our father through a pointless endeavor to show off the power they had.

My father sighs "Evidently they are on their way here to hear about the mistreatment of certain pack members as well." "Mistreatment" my gaze swung to an equally stymied Xander. As far as we know, nobody else besides Regan was ever maistreated in this pack and that's been dealt with."

We both felt immensely guilty over that. No other pack member has suffered at anybody else's hands though, we have ensured that. We've carefully kept a close watch on every pack member and even set up a hotline for anonymous tips. My father gives a grim smile. "Isabelle and Heather Ramona are claiming they have been mistreated and ostracised by the pack for something that is not of their doing and is demanding the elders reinstate their access to the pack house and grounds."

Why was I not surprised that it was Babelle and Heather behind this? I had a sneaking suspicion they were behind the trial the elders would be performing on behalf of my father as well.

"Can they do that?" I asked, fuming. "Their punishment was just. They might not have personally laid hands on Regan (although I suspect they did) but they certainly didn't defend her either. Regan could have died because of their silence" I pointed out and my father nodded but didn't look surprised as he continued to speak.

"They are claiming to have been abused by Beta Johnathon as well, leaving them too fearful to alert the Alpha and Luna about what was happening and claiming that they were also innocent victims."

We fell silent. Xander let out a low whistle, his expression one of admiration. "I'm impressed," he said lowly. "They've come with a sure way for the elders to feel sympathy towards them and to explain their behavior towards Regan and a way to justify it. The elders are sure to think they are telling the truth."

up

"They're lying though. Heather Ramona certainly didn't look afraid of her husband and neither did Isabelle. Neither one of them has hospital records" I growled, "we checked remember.

"They will claim theirs were destroyed like Regan's was meant to be" Xander shrugged looking nonchalant and further provoking my anger.

"Regan has never specified that Isabelle and Heather were hit physically by her father" 1 growled, feeling frustrated and more than a little exasperated.

Surely everybody could see that this was just another way to manipulate us all into giving them what they wanted? Isabelle and Heather Ramona were smarter than I had given them credit for

"She has never denied it either, nor has Regan ever told you her full story.

point that we don't know the full story of what she has personal endured, other than the was hurt and what we rondd glean from her hospital records. What if Isabelle and Heather are spring the truth!" My father's voice is cautious as he glances between the both of o

I know the truth already Heather and Isabelle are simply looking for sympathy and the means go get back into the park house. There is no way they were hurt by Beta Jolinathon and never said anything. That man favored the both of them on re Regan and he showed that whenever they were in public. I waud about to be tricked so easily by these conniving woMETL "Not possible" I interjected, folding my arms across my chest and shaking my head adamantly

"Will Regan testify to that?" my father asked, his tone knowing. Bis expression threwd

1 hesitated. Since we had spoken outside after her shift and told her she couldn't go for runs, Regan had spent most of her time upstairs away from Xander and me. We could ask her to tell the truth, but there was every chance that Isabelle and Heather would still be able to twist it.

"Isabelle and Heather will paint themselves as the victims and it's likely they will be granted their full status as proper park members back. My father's voice is sharp "As for me..." he trailed off, looking at the two of us, his face a reflection of anxiety.

"We'll make sure that they realize you acted in self-defense" I assured him

Neither Xander nor I had any negativity towards him over the death of our mother, even though we still struggled to come to terms with it now and then. He had done what he had to and if we had been in his place, we would have done the same thing. We could not hold him responsible or blame him for that.

"I appreciate that, but from now on, I am no longer the Alpha in charge." he told us as we stiffened. "You boys are. I'm taking a step back in lieu of this. Until the elders have come and made their decisions, I will stay away and let you be the ones in charge. You were going to become the Alpha's anyway. Now we can say that you have the titles officially."

He gave us a sad smile. "Now if you could just get your Luna to accept you and the role" he murmured wistfully as we flinched at the painful reminder that Regan had yet to do either

"We're trying" I murmured, "but every time we see her it's like we make her angry all of suggestion?" I asked pointedly.

He chuckled, running a hand over his chin. "I seem to recall that it's Regan's birthday in two days. You promised her a party remember" he reminded us as our eyes widened "Don't tell me you've forgotten with everything that's gone on?" he said incredulously. I flinched. "We might have, what with the early transformation of her wolf. I trailed off, casting Xander a guilty expression "Her wolf, what color was it?" my father asked eagerly, a small smile on his lips.

"Grey" Xander said hastily as we shot each other a warning glance.

"Lovely" my father smiled as I relaxed, "you should both keep your word and make Regan's birthday a night to remember. It's not often you turn eighteen," he said, smiling widely "and I have a feeling she's never had all the attention on her. Forget about all of this elder nonsense" he waved a dismissive hand at the both of us as we opened our mouth to object "and start showing your mate that you care about her. Heck" he sighed "I have no idea how you've managed to gain her ire for so long.

"It takes serious commitment" Xander deadpanned, and my father flung his head back and laughed, tears coming to his eye at his son's brutal honesty,

I glared at Xander. "We'll get started on this party. I'm sure that we can come up with something, although I suspect that she won't want a full-blown party now" 1 sighed, rubbing my eyes and feeling inexplicably tired for some strange reason 10:20 Sat, Jan 11 G

"Doesn't have to be with the whole pack, but maybe celebrating with those who claim to care for her, might be enough" my father said wisely. "Sometimes all you want is the people you love to be with you on your special day."noveldrama

He looked nostalgic for a moment and then stood up, quietly making his way out of the room. I cast a sidelong glance at Xander. "I think he misses having a mate," I said quietly.

present a Luna to the pack. It's the only thing that keeps him going right now" he concluded, and I shivered. knowing that he was right.

Our father was a shell of the man he once was, something else I blamed our mother for, I prayed the moon goddess showed him mercy and granted him a second chance, but opportunities like that were rare and happened once in a blue moon. My father might have given up on love for now, but Xander and I were determined to keep ours going, no matter how stubborn our mate was proving to be. It was just a matter of time until she fell head over heels for us and fell for our charm. We were sure of it.
