Chapter 164 Don't Touch Me
Avery's eyes widened in shock.
These days, she had imagined countless times what Jacob would do if he caught her. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
But it never occurred to her that he would do such a thing.
He was like a traveler in the desert, desperately seeking water. Finally, he found a clear spring,
carefully kissed it, and savored it, fearing he might lose it.
Avery's heart raced.
She saw the man's trembling eyelashes in the sunlight, covering the expression on his face, making
her unable to discern his thoughts.
Jacob had long been as gentle as he was now.
As she was lost in thought, Jacob suddenly bit her lips hard, sending a sharp pang.
Jacob's voice was cold and hoarse. "Are you thinking of him again?"
To be honest, she was constantly thinking of Jacob. How could she have the time to think of anything
else?
Avery retorted with a cold face, "No. How many times do I have to tell you that we're just ordinary
friends?"
"Heh!" He sneered.
It was obvious that, in his eyes, she was a cheating wife, and he was unwilling to believe anything she
said.
Not only did he not believe, his emotions became even more extreme. His fingers caressed Avery's
face, his voice deep. "Has he touched you?"
Avery widened her eyes again, seemingly not expecting him to say such a thing, and her voice grew
even colder. "No! You've gone too far!"
Each of his words felt like a knife cutting into her heart, and the wounds on her body with salts on them
paled in comparison to the pain in her heart.
"He touched your hand." Jacob, like a paranoid child, slid his fingers down, entwining them with hers.
Avery opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.
She didn't know how to explain.
All she could do was suppress her emotions and not let herself anger Jacob.
But her compromised stance was also a provocation, and Jacob bent down to pick her up and walk
towards the bathroom.
Avery instinctively grabbed the front of his shirt, and the unpleasant memories came to her mind,
causing her body to tremble instinctively.
"Is he going to go crazy again?
Jacob gently placed her in the bathtub and said in a soft tone, "Don't be afraid. I'll wash you clean."
"Another damn cleaning!" she roared in her head.
Avery thought of the feeling of cold water sending a chill down her spine. She shook her head
frantically. "Jacob, no. Don't treat me like this."
The shower turned on, and steam rose in the bathroom.
Fortunately, this time, it was warm water.
Jacob began to remove her clothes with his fingers one by one.
Soon, there was only underwear left on her.
They had clearly done more intimate things before, but it had been two years since he had touched her.
After experiencing all the ups and downs, Avery held a mix of love, hate, and anger toward him.
And she felt disgusted by his touch.
"Don't touch me!" She crossed her arms over her chest, refusing Jacob's approach.
Jacob watched as the woman sitting in the bathtub with her arms around her knees, tears in her eyes.
Clearly, she resisted his touching.
He lowered his head, his cold eyes staring at her.
"What? I can't even touch you now, can I?" Jacob sneered.
Avery noticed the man's face turned sullen and his eyes were terrifyingly cold.
It seemed he had deeper misunderstandings, and just as he rose without saying a word, there was
clear contempt in his eyes.
Most likely, he was going to do something bad.
The ones who would suffer were not her but those around her.
With this in mind, Avery grabbed Jacob's wrist.
"Don't leave."
