Chapter 1568
Chapter 1568
"Don't worry. It'll be none of your business once you get out of here." Ivan indeed would kill, but he would not kill the innocent.
He would leave once he had reached his goals.
"Alright. I'll tell you..." Just as the woman was about to open her mouth and tell him everything she knew.
Someone pushed the door to the private room open and in came Caine.
When he saw the woman had a gun pointed at her, he hurriedly tried to stop him. "Gosh, sir, calm down a little. What's the matter? This woman didn't serve you properly, did she? Idiot!"
As he said that, he immediately slapped the woman on her face.
The woman let out a scream when she was slapped, but she did not dare to make a sound as she covered her face.
"Get out of here now!" Caine cursed.
The woman rushed out frantically.
Caine immediately took out a cigarette and handed it to him with a big frivolous grin on his face. "Don't mind her. The women here have been spoiled by the customers, so they might be careless sometimes. Don't worry. I'll teach her a good lesson later."
Ivan did not accept the cigarette. He knew that he could no longer continue investigating once someone else entered.
He kept his gun and scanned the surroundings of the private room.
He kept a very low profile when he came in. There were so many customers, so it was impossible that someone would have noticed him.
There was only one possibility—the private room was being monitored, and it was done without the knowledge of other people at all.
It must be something only the manager of the bar knew clearly.
It was not usual for a private room to have hidden cameras.
"Are you the boss of this place?" asked Ivan. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Yes." Seeing that Ivan did not accept the cigarette, Caine did not mind either and simply kept it. "This is your first time here, isn't it?"
"How do you know?"
"If this is not your first, you should know that I'm the boss."
Ivan sat down. "This is such a big bar yet a boss like you needs to handle the problems personally? Also, how do you know there's trouble in the private room?"
"Well.Jt’sjust that she often offends her customers, so I hope she doesn't serve any customers on her own anymore. True enough, such a situation happened as soon as I came in. Fortunately, I came over just in time," said Caine.
"You're no longer needed here. Get out of here!" Ivan did not know if he could get anything out of this person's mouth.
He planned to look for that woman again.
He then left the bar and went to stay at a hotel not nearby.
He could see the faces of the people entering and exiting the bar clearly with the binoculars in his hands.
He did not see that woman coming out. Instead, he saw an ambulance and a police car.
Not long later, someone was carried out of the bar. The face of the person on the stretcher could not be seen clearly as it was covered with a white cloth, but he could tell it was a woman.
Ivan walked out of the hotel, went to the bar, and asked the spectators," What happened?"
"It seems like an escort from this bar suddenly died after taking some stimulants."
Ivan noticed something was not right.
He followed them to the morgue at the hospital. When he lifted the white cloth, he saw the woman's face.
It was the woman who served him earlier.
Judging from her lips that had turned purple, she indeed died of a heart attack.
The time of her death was such a coincidence, which meant something was up.
This woman was probably murdered and silenced because of him.
Ivan told Anthony about what had happened over the phone.
They believe this has something to do with Corentin.
However, they did not have any evidence.
It was no longer possible for them to investigate at the bar anymore.
They would have covered the evidence of their crime well.
Since Ivan's tracks as he was investigating at the bar have already been exposed, and he has gotten information from the escort as well, Corentin knew that he was probably already exposed.
He was so pissed that he flipped his desk in the office.
It was such a loud commotion that his secretary and assistant outside did not dare to make a sound out of fear.
He has to act like nothing has happened when he was facing Ashlynn after he had gone home.
Ashlynn was with child at that moment, so he could not afford to let any mishaps happen to her at all.
Then, did Ashlynn really go into Ivan's car purely because she suspected her husband of having another woman out there?
