Brad had deliberately made time to attend Sean's family event, giving Nadine a chance to make it up to him. All she had to do was apologize and promise never to treat him as a stand-in again. Then, he would let bygones be bygones, as if none of it had ever happened.

Brad was going out of his way to make things easy for her, yet she was still mocking him. This was unbelievable.

Over the past few weeks, he'd thought a lot and talked quite a bit with Alex. He was certain that he liked Nadine.

It was because of her that he, of all people, was willing to give her a chance to apologize. As long as she apologized and said she wouldn't like Jack anymore, he would forgive her.

But now, here she was, throwing that chance back in his face and even insulting him. That was on her.

Anger surged through Brad. His gaze turned sharp as he glared at Nadine. Of course, Nadine knew what that look meant, but that didn't scare her. They were divorced-who would put up with him now?

"Since you were the one who asked, it's you. Whoever asks is a piece of trash!" Nadine shouted. If it weren't for the fact that they were surrounded by people, she'd have said something harsher.

She continued, "We're already divorced, and you're still here begging for insults. What's the point? Brad, don't tell me you regret divorcing and want to get back together.

"To be honest, I've been living great since the divorce. Life's been the same-with or without you. If you're smart, you'll keep your distance from me and my son."

Nadine didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone, especially with Sean there. They couldn't be friends after the divorce, but they didn't have to be enemies.

However, from the look in Brad's eyes, he clearly didn't plan on letting her go easily. Since that was the case, Nadine wouldn't show any kindness to him.

Brad was so furious that he couldn't

find the words. He opened and

closed his mouth several times, but

nothing came out. She had

infuriated him to the point of speechlessness.

If Nadine weren't a woman, Brad might have hit her already.

Clenching his fists, he struggled to contain his anger. After a long pause, he leaned closer to her and muttered, "Your mouth really is something. I wonder if you'd still be able to insult me while kissing.noveldrama

"If you insult me again, I'll kiss you until you can't speak." Brad couldn't hit nor argue with Nadine. His only option was to overpower her.

Sure enough, despite Nadine's fierce attitude, she was still a woman. Hearing his words, her face turned bright red. She gritted her teeth and turned her face away from him.

With his small victory, Brad's mood instantly brightened.

His injured right arm had fully healed, and he was currently in rehab. The doctor said that with proper rehab, he might regain up to 95% of his previous ability. While he wouldn't be able to do very fine movements, he could still sign his name and write.

Sean was watching Nadine and Brad bickering the whole time. He crossed his arms and stood off to the side, giving them the you're-both-so-immature look.

Riding his high, Brad started humming victoriously while looking at the silent Nadine and whistling.

Noticing the kids around, he quickly stopped after one whistle. He threw Nadine a challenging look, waiting for her to retaliate. And yet...
