Chapter 13
In the car, Felix pinched Mabel's chin, his thin lips curling
into a smile. "You said you love me, can you also be like Natalie, not leaving me even if I hurt you?"
This smile, in Mabel's eyes, was more terrifying than the Grim Reaper, she couldn't deny.
Not to mention she didn't want to deny it.
Not only had she suffered outside, she truly understood Felix's kindness. In addition, the Jef- ferson family lost the
Harrison family, a big support. Her father would not let her off the hook first.
She had put in a lot of effort to drive Natalie away, determined not to fail at this final mo- ment.
He nodded vigorously and said, "Yes, I love you more than Natalie.”
Felix, I was deceived back then, that's why I left you. During the most difficult years for you, it's not that I didn't want to come back, I just couldn't come back... That person locked me in a room and would often She spoke with sobs, crying pitifully and helplessly.
"Felix, can we stop fighting? I can apologize to Natalie, make amends, or whatever you want me to do, I promise I can do it. Can you forgive me?"
She gently shook Felix's large hand with both of hers and leaned into his embrace.
In the past, whenever she made such a gesture, Felix would agree to anything she asked.
But this time, Felix pushed her away, took out the letter of understanding and divorce agree-
ment and placed them in front of her: "Since it's like this, sign these first and let me see your sincerity."noveldrama
She made up her mind and signed her name with a stamp on top.
Turning her head, she realized that the car was getting more and
more remote, already out of the urban area. She forced a smile and asked, "Where are we going?"
Felix handed the folder to his assistant in the front passenger seat, chuckled, and told the driver to stop the car. "You can get out now," he said.
No matter how much Mabel begged, he ignored her and waved for his assistant to drag
her out of the car.
Mabel watched helplessly as the car drove away, with no phone and no money. She didn't know what to do when suddenly a van pulled up beside her. A man jumped out and dragged her inside.
She
looked at the two familiar faces and angrily said, "Last time I gave you enough money to leave Washington after kidnapping and setting fire. Why didn't you leave? Now you've been caught and it's causing troub "I didn't come looking for you to settle the score, yet you dare to come to
me. You don't even understand the rules of the street. You filmed the process as evidence of guilt, you fools! You caused me so much misery, I won't let you off.”
"Hey! Where are you
taking me? Are you saying the money is not enough or something?"
Those two people didn't speak at all.
She was not dragged out of the car until it stopped at the construction site.
Mabel was dumbfounded.
On the large open space on the second floor, many large oil drums containing gasoline and firewood were arranged in a circle, with a chair placed in the middle. "What do you want to do exactly? Does the Harrison family in Washington know? I am Fe-
lix's wife, we have a marriage certificate."
Two men tied her to a chair and left the oil drum circle.
One by one, the matches were lit and thrown into the oil drum.
With each toss, there was a loud "boom", igniting a fierce blaze.
Halfway through the circle, Mabel already felt the scorching heat unbearable. She was like the meat on
the grill, even if the fire couldn't reach her, she would still be roasted.
She was scared.
Trembling, he begged, "Don't do it, please stop."
"What do you want? Money, right? I can give you some, let's negotiate a price, everything is negotiable."
Felix stood in a place where she couldn't see him, peering into her pain.
Muttering under his breath, "So you're afraid too. That day, Natalie begged you the same way. She must have been even more scared than you..."
As all the oil barrels were ignited, Mabel's eyes were met with flames and black smoke ev-
erywhere.
In the oil drum, she didn't know what was put in it. Every now and then, sparks or splinters of wood would fly onto her body and face.
The fear of death made her mind race, and she finally concluded that Felix was behind it.
"Felix, is that you?"
"Are you treating me like this to vent your anger on Natalie? The divorce agreement cannot take effect immediately. Legally, I am still your wife. Even if I die here today will
still be your deceased wife
"I have already seen our marriage certificate with Natalie, she will not forgive you unless you divorce her. Let them release me, I am willing to go with you to get a divorce..."
Felix turned a deaf ear to her words.
Ignoring her screams and cries of pain when she was scalded, the project manager only made a phone call to report the incident. When Mabel was rescued, she had multiple burns on exposed parts of her body, especially her face which was disfigured.
Two criminals
confessed on the
spot, saying that it was because
Mabel had instructed them to kidnap
In
Natalie last time. Later, Natalie escaped, and Mabel only wanted to pay half of the fee, so they sought revenge.
Mabel was in unbearable pain, her spirits on the verge of collapse. Even as she was lifted into the ambulance, she insisted, "It was Felix who ordered them to do this. Felix is retaliat- ing against me..."
After everyone left the scene, the construction site became quiet again.
A man in black emerged from an unnoticed corner and dialed Blake's phone: "Blake, it's all done over here. Let the bad guys deal with their own problems. I'll send you the video, use it to please your sister-in-law, hahaha."
Blake across the street said in a low voice, "The other two criminals should also be caught. Let the person go, and you can report as enthusiastic citizens."
"Continue collecting evidence against Felix, the fugitive can't clean his butt. Send me all the evidence found so far in the hospital."
What do you think?
