Chapter 265
Chapter 265
What shocked Edward was that not only did the headquarters say nothing, but they even reminded him to meticulously follow the strict instructions that were given by Calum. They even warned him not to make guesses or enquire about the identity of that man.
Edward was once again stunned. He was mostly glad that he picked the right side to stand with. The headquarters was one of the top corporate groups within the whole of Biskeland. If they had such a respectful attitude toward that man, then one could only imagine how terrifying he was!
Edward quickly tidied up the documents and called an emergency meeting to brief the others about what Calum ordered for execution. He was also planning on preparing a huge gift to present to Liam personally as a thank-you after everything was settled.
…
Meanwhile, Liam, Celena, and Jovie were at the hospital.
Jovie was already bandaged and treated. Liam was carrying Jovie and holding Celen's hand as they walked out of the hospital.
He looked tall and handsome. She looked gorgeous and divine. Their daughter in his arms was adorable. People just could not stop looking at them.
Celena was still suspicious about Liam's identity. She could not hold back her curiosity, so stopped in her tracks and tugged at Liam's sleeve. She looked skeptical at Liam and asked, "You—You're not lying to me, right? You are just King Pendragon's subordinate?"
Celena was always suspicious of Liam's identity. Ever since he returned, everything that happened, how Liam was able to solve any problems in the nick of time, and how people treated Liam made her more and more doubtful of his identity.
She did not see him for seven years. She was always curious about the years when he was not around. From NôvelDrama.Org.
Liam switched Jovie over to his other arm and used his free hand to hold Celena's. He smiled and said, "It's true. I'm not lying to you. Let's quickly head back and let Jovie rest. She must be hungry."
He was the subordinate of the former commander-in-chief of the Pendragon Warrior. That was a fact, so that did not count as lying.
Liam was secretly thinking about that. Then, he tightened his grip on Celena's hand and his smile became more and more natural.
Celena nodded resignedly. She decided to trust him this once. She quickly followed Liam's footsteps.
Soon, they returned to their cottage at the Stone Mansion. They could see Sherah and Qemal standing at the entrance from afar, and both of them looked anxious.
As soon as they saw that Celena was back, Sherah rushed forward and held her hand. She put on an ingratiating smile and said affectionately, "Celena, you're finally back! I have been waiting for you!"
Celena was shocked by Sherah's sudden affection. She smiled awkwardly and pulled her hand away. "Mom, what's the matter? Why are you so anxious? Let's talk inside."
Sherah was not angry at the fact that Celena pulled her hand away. Instead, she smiled even brighter and nodded in agreement. She glared at Qemal, who was standing like a log at the side, and they quickly followed Celena into the cottage.
Qemal was unwilling, but at Sherah's warning glare, he sucked it up and walked into the cottage with them.
Liam was all of their interactions. He did not know what would make this mother and son duo stand patiently at the entrance for so long and greet Celena with such enthusiasm, but he was sure that this would not be good.
