My Gentle Wife is a Real Divine Being

Chapter 1109

Chapter 1109

“Oh, I don’t have a habit of poisoning people,” Debra said. “Those you just ate were poison–free. But I did add a bit of sleeping pills. You might sleep for eight or nine hours.”

She paused and added, “Oh, by then, you’ll probably be shipped back to Seamar City in a container. I’ll contact Ms. Buchan to pick you up. Hope everything goes well for you back there.”

She didn’t mean a word of it. If Robert was sent back like this, Theda would be furious.

“You…” Robert tried to say something, but his eyelids grew heavy, and his vision blurred.

The next second, he collapsed on the floor. Debra looked back at him and said, “Oh, I forgot to mention that besides the

sleeping pill, I also added a bit of knockout drug You’ll sleep well and won’t feel a thing on the way.”

Outside the hotel, a bodyguard opened the car door for her.

“Ma’am, are we going back to the hospital?

“To the Lowe Mansion.”

Drake was throwing darts in his study, feeling restless.

“Boss, Debra is here,” Kale announced from the doorway.

Drake shot up from his chair. “Here to demand answers?”

“Probably.”

“Don’t let her in.”

But as soon as his voice died away, Debra’s men booted open the door.

She hadn’t been there in a while. Looking around, she found nothing had changed.

Lara paused from cleaning and looked up. They exchanged a glance but didn’t speak, acting like strangers.

“Drake, come out or I’ll start smashing things,” Debra shouted.

Drake rushed out of his study and saw the dozen or so bodyguards she had brought. He knew she meant business.

“What’s with all the muscle?”

“Settling scores. Didn’t you say you wanted to settle this with me? Here I am.”

Drake felt too guilty to argue with her.

Debra continued, “How about we talk upstairs?”

Drake looked at her entourage and nodded to Kale. “Bring her up.”

“Yes, boss.” Kale came downstairs and gestured. “This way, please.‘

In the study, Debra sat down on the sofa across from Drake. He was used to her straightforward manner. “You really don’t stand the ceremony, do you?”

Debra stared at him without replying. Drake fidgeted. “What do you want? A fight? A scolding? Or to carve me up?”

“I’ve got Robert. He should be on his way back to Seamar City by now.”

“You want to know what Robert and I have to do with each other?”

“You both used to work for the Bernard family.”

“If you already know, why come to me? Everything that happened today was my doing. Blame me all you want.”

“No rush. I just want to know how Robert convinced you to help him. Did you two make some kind of deal?” noveldrama
