After giving her a couple of kisses, Timothy said, “Honey, you still owe me one. Remember to make it
up when you have time.”
“When did I owe you?” Johanna looked up at him.
Timothy picked up the phone from the table and played the recording again. Johanna had only listened
to a couple of sentences before she asked him to turn it off. “Doesn't what just happened count? You've
done this more than once.”
“You were just seducing me, so of course it doesn't count,” Timothy retorted seriously, “Honey, are you
trying to back out?”
He was too good at sophistry, and Johanna didn't want to waste her breath arguing with him.
After massaging Johanna's waist, Timothy said he had a gift for her. He then pulled out a light blue
velvet ribbon from the drawer. “Honey, try it on.”
Johanna was so tired that she was about to fall asleep. Seeing him stuff the velvet ribbon into her
hand, she had no choice but to fight off the sleepiness and open it.
Within the velvet ribbon lay a pear-shaped pink diamond, about the size of a pigeon's egg. It was pure
and flawless, and under the warm yellow table lamp, the diamond refracted a dazzling light.
Johanna held up the diamond and studied it for a while. “Is this what you bought for thirty six million
dollars?”
“Yeah, many people wanted to buy it, but none of them had as much money as I did,” said Timothy.
“Yuvan was also at the auction that night. What's he doing bidding on diamonds when he doesn't even
have a wife? Every time I raised my paddle, he immediately raised his from behind. But in the end, he
didn't have enough money to outbid me. Honey, do you like it?”
“Mmm.” Although Johanna seldom attended banquets and had few opportunities to show off her
jewelry collection, which woman wouldn't love such beautiful diamonds?
Moreover, it was an exceptionally rare pink diamond.
“You like it, so my efforts to get it weren't in vain.” Timothy looked at her. “What do you say about giving
your husband a little reward?”
Johanna was caught between laughter and tears. She tilted her head back and gave him a kiss. “Thank
you, Darling.”
“You don't seem sincere at all,” Timothy said, feigning dissatisfaction. “Just a moment ago, you were
begging me, calling me Timmy so sweetly...”
“If you keep talking nonsense, I won't move back in,” Johanna said, expressionless.
“Alright, I won't say any more.” Timothy knew when to stop.
He rubbed his hand on Johanna's back. “Your precious daughter should really thank me. If it wasn't for
my sacrifice, she would still be stuck video calling you every day.”
Johanna carefully tucked the diamond under his pillow. “Timothy, I have a question for you.”
Timothy ignored her.
“Does it roll off the tongue better if I use your full name? Why are you so hung up on a particular term
of address?” Johanna knew what the man was upset about and finally had to change the way she ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
addressed him. “Timmy.”
Timothy gave a satisfied hum. “Go ahead and ask.”
Johanna leaned into his arm, confidently stating, “You deliberately went to the tea garden that day,
didn't you?”
“Yeah.” Timothy had to admit when she noticed. “You're heartless, not calling me for days, not missing
me. But I miss you. I learned from Mr. Saafield that you would go to the tea garden, so I went straight
there from the airport.”
“I really want to buy that tea garden and turn it into an orchard,” he said, bending down to kiss the top
of Johanna's head. “But seeing you is what matters most.”
Johanna looked up at him. “Did Mr. Saafield seek me out for business himself, or did you arrange it?”
“Honey, I swear I didn't set up anything. If I'm lying, let me sleep on the couch for a week.” Timothy
raised his hand and swore, “Mr. Saafield gave you his business card because of your talent, it has
nothing to do with me. I only asked him for his contact information afterward.”
“If you dare to swear on this, it's probably true.” Johanna pulled his hand down and asked, “What
else?”
“Have I left anything unsaid?” Timothy wondered aloud.
After making eye contact with Johanna for a moment, Timothy finally caved in. He laid everything out.
“When you arranged for Denise to dine with me, I was indeed upset. Coincidentally, there were issues
with the collaboration between the group and the Norham company, so I went abroad to cool off and
handle some work. In fact, I calmed down as soon as I arrived in Norham. But you didn't call me to
coax me, and I held back from calling you too. Later, I heard about an auction in Bellridge. There was a
beautiful pink diamond up for bid. I thought of buying it for you, so I went to Bellridge again.”
