Chapter 188

Xade's pov
My heart pounded with excitement and nerves as I rush up the staircase. When I got to my room, I could hear the soft thudding of her heartbeat and the scrapping of the spoon on the bucket. I chuckle low, opening the door.
She's seated on the bed, her legs crossed as she pushes a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth. When she noticed me, her eyes brightens when she saw me. She gets off the bed, her tiny feet planting on the floor as she rushes to me, ice cream messy around her mouth.
I chuckle." I'm sorry I took so long baby," I apolo- gize as I lift her in my arms and hug her. " But I am home now."
She wraps her arms around my neck and sighs. You had me worried. Especially when your dad came in with Henry and Xaden and they look frus- trated. What happened? Why-
"Not tonight. We won't speak about any of this tonight," I pleaded, squeezing her lightly.
She pulls away to search my eyes, her brows joined in that adorable furrow. She nods, smiling. " Okay,"
My eyes drop to her mouth, and my lips curve into an amused grin. " You're so messy," I tease, leaning in to lick across her mouth, licking up every bit of ice cream. The sweetness of the ice cream was as sweet as the taste on her lips and tongue.
She playfully swatted at my face, giggling. "Bad puppy," she joked, earning herself a playful nip on her bottom lip. The sound of her laughter makes me feel warm and happy. I hold her close, loving the feel of her soft body against mine.
My home. Mine.
I nuzzle my nose on her cheek, breathing in her sweet scent. " I have a surprise for you. Get dressed."
I pull away to look at her face and she has that cute little thinking face on. " Surprise?"
I nod, my bottom lip snagging between my teeth as I watch the beauty in my arms. " Yeah, you don't have to dress to impress me. Anything you wear looks perfect anyway."
She grins, the corners of her eyes crinkling. "I can't exactly dress pretty anyway since I forgot to take my things at my mom's,"
Her mentioning Fay brought me back to the conver- sation I had with her. The confession that she was a hunter...
I shake my head. Tonight I won't focus on any of this. Tonight it's just me a V.
I grinned." Well, you do look good in my clothes,"
I shrug, leaning in to kiss her soft lips. Her laughter bubbles in the air and my heart warms at the pretty sound. I place her down on her feet reluctant to let her go, but she needed to get dressed.
"Wear something comfy because we're going out- side," I told her, following her to my closet and pulling out an oversized hoodie. I pass it over to her. "It might be cold but don't worry, I will make sure you're warm," I winked and she lightly pushes me away.
I chuckle, leaving her to get ready while I mind link Malcom to make sure everything is ready. I had him set up a perfect place in the woods where our pack usually have barbecues. "Wait here I will be back."
"Okay," was her soft reply.
I needed to make sure that everything was set to be perfect. I could not afford this night to go awful. Tonight had to be perfect.
The moon is bright up in the sky when I go outside.
It wasn't a full moon yet but it was bright enough to
lead to the spot where I had everything set up. I found Malcom and a few others making some touch ups.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
There are cushions around the fire, lamps and some rose petals scattered around to make it more serene. There was also some food on a blanket and I made sure to have them leave some uncooked meat for her since she has been craving it.
He and his brother were just putting up some more string lights on the trees. Malcom notices me in- stantly. " Almost done alpha. Just adding this and we will leave."
I nodded, thanking him. After they were done they left, bidding me goodbye and luck. Satisfied with the preparation I turn to head to the house, my hands trembling with nerves.
Tonight is the night. Tonight I am asking her hand.
