My Bestfriend Slipped Inside Me (An Alpha’s Secret)

Chapter 163

Avery’s pov

The truth is I am terrified that he’d not come back and as I stared at him fighting against those hunters my eyes glisten.

Wind whips beside my leg and Kaylee whines under me. I drop my gaze to where the arrow had nearly attacked me and noticed that one was stuck in Kaylee’s back leg. Panic surges in me but she does not stop, she keeps her pace despite the arrow sticking through her leg.

Pulling it out would be risky, especially in the open. Kaylee’s pace didn’t falter and suddenly she veered off the tracks and went east. The path is a bit narrower, the foliage thicker and darker as the sharp branches snap against my skin brutally.

It felt like hours until Kaylee slowed down, limping a bit. I looked around. She clearly needed a break and also needed to get the arrow out.

it was Just up ahead there’s a small cave and though I do not like caves, the only way to get out of sight and help her.

I pointed at the cave. ” In there, we need to get the arrow out,” I said worriedly, hoping she’d listen to me. To my relief, she does and limps to the entrance of the cave. Blood dripped on the forest floor after her path and I look around nervously, hoping we would not be followed.

We haven’t spotted any hunters as yet so hopefully they’d not suddenly show up now.

The cave is small and dark but it’s a good enough size to fit us both and cover us from the outside. Kaylee limps to the very end of the cave where the darkness closed in around us, yet there is a little light from the

opening of the cave. She lowers herself, whining in pain and I carefully move off her.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

She shifts, moaning and falling limp on the forest floor in her naked human form. “Kaylee!” I rushed, bending down to her injured leg. The arrow shot right in, the tip pushing out from the back of her thigh.

I winced. It looks painful.

I think the arrow is laced with wolfsbane. My wolf is having difficulty in healing the wound,” she whimpers low, her fingers wrapping around the arrow. Her teeth grits as she pulls it out in one swift move.

She flings the bloody arrow to the other side of the cave and I gasped at the amount of blood I could see gushing out of the wound. I didn’t think twice and quickly tear a strip of my shirt. ” Okay hold on,” I whisper as my hand shakes.

I have never seen a wound this bad up close before. Her face winced with pain as I try to swiftly wrap the material around her wound tightly to help stop the bleeding.

“Since you’ve mentioned that the arrow was laced with wolfsbane, is there no possibility of you healing?” I asked nervously.

She nods. “It will heal but will take a bit longer but we need to get out of here, the hunters may not be too far.”

My mind race as I nod. ” Yes, I agree but we can’t move with you like this. I won’t go on your back and you’re injured. we should wait it out a little bit until you heal.”

She shook her head no. We can’t risk it, they can be on to us and know where we are. I need to get you to safety.”

My eyes soften. She’d rather risk herself for me instead of caring for her wound.” And I won’t risk you getting even more hurt Kaylee. What good will it do if you can’t even stand up because of this wound? ”

She sighs, closing her eyes, and when she reopens them she nods. “Okay, but only ten minutes. After that, we move.”

My brows furrows. ” Will ten minutes be enough for the wound to heal?”

She looks away and I already knew her answer without her having to say it verbally. I let out a breath and was about to tell her we would wait as long as necessary for her wound to heal when a figure moves in the middle of the opening of the cave.

Kaylee and I stiffen and my heart sped.

That figure did not belong to Xade or Xaden…..this was a hunter.

“Come out little wolves, I just want to play,” the gruff manly voice chuckles and a shiver race down my spine.
