Love At The Wrong Table

Love at the 1965

Chapter 1965 A Surprising Talent

Shane knew well that his master loved singing operas, which seemed

somehow connected to his late wife, though Santiago had never talked

much about it, and Shane didn’t fully understand the connection.

“Wow, you actually weren’t bluffing!”

Sonia exclaimed after listening to him hum a tune, pleasantly surprised. She

hadn’t expected to find someone who shared her love for opera.

“Haha, impressive, right?” Shane beamed with pride, never having felt this

happy before. He wished this moment could last forever.

“You are impressive, but why were you singing the soprano part?” Sonia

asked, her curiosity piqued.

“Uh..” Shane scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Miss Toma, don’t

laugh at me, okay? My master always sang the soprano parts, so I just

followed his lead.

韓 “Why? Is your mentor a woman?” Sonia asked, even more intrigued, as opera

was one of her passions.

“No, he’s a burly guy, but for some reason, he always sang the soprano parts.

Maybe it was his way of honoring his late wife or something.” Shane

shrugged.

“That’s very sentimental,” Sonia mused, looking at Shane with renewed

interest. If his mentor was so devoted, maybe his student would be capable

of such loyalty, too.

“Miss Toma, would you like to hear more? I know plenty of songs! How about I

sing ‘O Mio Babbino Caro‘ for you next?” Shane offered, clearly enthusiastic.

“Sure!” Sonia smiled. “It’s a bit odd hearing a man sing a soprano, but I have

to admit, you have a touch of Maestro Moretti’s style in your voice.”

“Maestro Moretti?” Shane asked, looking puzzled. “Who’s that?

“You don’t know Maestro Moretti?Sonia was surprised. “She’s the most

renowned opera master in Chanaea, often called the Prima Donna of All

Stages. Her status in the entertainment world is unmatched! Even the

chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Teddy Tanner, is a huge fan of

hers.”

“Oh, wow, I didn’t realize she was such a big deal,” Shane said, scratching his

head with an awkward laugh. “Well, now I know! If my singing is anything like

hers, I’ll sing more for you!”

“Alright!”

Sonia, who had a deep understanding of opera, knew that the art form was

steeped in tradition and discipline. The fact that Shane’s style resembled

Isabella Moretti’s made her wonder. After listening to another song, she was

convinced–Shane’s technique and style were uncannily similar to those of a

direct disciple of Isabella.

“Shane, are you sure you don’t know Maestro Moretti?” Sonia asked again, this

time with more certainty.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Roselynn had been captured by Gwai

and his two companions after fleeing from the Ancient Woods. As

unfortunate as it was, at least she hadn’t been caught by the Great Four

Envoys.

Roselynn quickly realized that Gwain, despite his villainous nature, was too

concerned with his reputation to physically harm women. This gave her a

small advantage.

Hank also had a code of conduct–he wouldn’t harm non–combatant

women. When they interrogated the Summerton siblings, they tortured Julian

to force Ashton into submission, but now that Roselynn was alone, they

weren’t sure how to proceed.

Roselynn, being clever, played along. She occasionally pretended to recall

part of the information they sought, only to deliberately mess up a word or

two, leaving them confused and frustrated.

Fearing that Roselynn might scream for help and attract attention in the city,

the trio decided to relocate her to a secluded house in the countryside,
