Chapter 1951 Power Plays and Broken Trust

“Should you ever turn against the Quillen family, I’ll take down the Fletcher

family without hesitation. Don’t try my patience!”

As Emmanuel’s threat echoed in the room, Jake quickly concealed his

unease with a strained smile. “Mr. Lowe, you have nothing to worry about.

We’re on the same side, and I wouldn’t dream of going against you. I’ll begin

the search for Roselynn immediately.”

“That’s exactly what I wanted to hear!” His tone grew warmer with approval.

“I’ll head to Silver Fox Military now. If you manage to find my sister, I’ll make

sure they pay for it.”

“Thank you, Mr. Lowe!” Jake bowed with heartfelt gratitude. His posture and

the troubled look in his eyes betrayed the lingering resentment he harbored

toward the Silver Fox Military.

As they were heading out, Raina burst in her face marked by concern. “Dad,

several of our relatives are here. They insist on seeing both of you right

Seeing her concern, Emmanuel realized that the Fletcher family wasn’t all on

the same page as Jake. The image of the enchanting, masked woman from

earlier lingered in his mind, and he felt a disturbing pull as if he were being

drawn into the heart of the family’s intense power–struggle.

Jake frowned, clearly deep in thought. After a brief pause, he turned to

Emmanuel with a request. “Mr. Lowe, would you come with me to meet my

father?

“Of course,” he agreed.

He viewed the Fletcher family not just as a potential ally but as a key piece in

his plan to bring down Teddy. Building strong connections was crucial, and

the Fletcher family’s offer to align with him was an opportunity he wasn’t

about to let slip by.

As they left the reception hall, they entered a larger chamber where an

elderly man sat at the head of a long, polished table. Surrounding him were

several men, along with their wives, creating a scene of bustling activity. The

Fletcher family was clearly a formidable and well–established clan, their

influence and stature far exceeding that of the Quillen family.

“Good evening, everyone,” Jake said with deep respect, “allow me to

blend of curiosity and suspicion, their polite smiles barely masking their true

feelings.

Old Mr. Fletcher rose from his seat, his demeanor courteous but firm. “Mr.

Lowe, please excuse our lack of proper greeting. We weren’t expecting you,

but we’re glad to make your acquaintance.”

Emmanuel, showing his respect for elders, smiled pleasantly. “Please don’t

worry about it, Old Mr. Fletcher. I apologize for arriving unannounced. I hope

it’s not too much of an inconvenience.”

Old Mr. Fletcher, clearly aware of the situation, quickly set the tone. “Mr. Lowe,

we’re currently engaged in important discussions with Ms. Tanner.

Unfortunately, we don’t have time to entertain uninvited guests. I must ask

you to leave.”

Although his words were polite, Emmanuel could detect a clear undercurrent

of hostility. It was evident that his presence was unwelcome.

At the same moment, he figured out who the mesmerizing, masked woman

was. It turned out to be Xylie, the daughter of the Tanner family. Her

appearance, combined with the current turmoil, made it clear that she was

working to draw the Fletcher family to their side.

“Father, Mr. Lowe must not leave, and I refuse to cooperate with the Tanner

family!” Jake declared, his voice firm and defiant. Aligning with the Tanners

may seem like a step forward, but their so–called ‘reconciliation‘ is just a

smokescreen to make us subordinate to the Quill family. In the end, they’ll

easily swallow up our assets and resources!”

His words sparked an immediate uproar among the other family members.

Heated discussions erupted, reflecting the deep divisions within the Fletcher

family.

In the midst of this chaos, Emmanuel felt the gravity of the situation. The

Fletcher family was deeply divided, with some eager to align with the

Tanners for their own protection, while others, like Jake, were resolutely

against becoming pawns to the Quills. For them, it was a matter of pride and

survival. The idea of submitting to the Quills was a bitter pill to swallow, and

once they committed, there would be no turning back.

Emmanuel had no intention to get entangled in the Fletcher family’s internal

squabbles. Their family drama was not his concern, but the unfolding events

were undeniably intriguing.

Just as he turned to leave, Jake stepped forward again, blocking his way. Mr.

Lowe, please, you’re not just an uninvited guest here. We truly appreciate you

and need your help here. Let’s work together!”

Before he could say a word, Damien’s voice cut through the tension with a

chilling edge. “Jake, tell me you’re not seriously thinking of teaming up with

the Quillens to challenge the Tanners and the Quills, are you?”

The room fell silent as every gaze turned toward Jake, the atmosphere thick

with unease.

It was an obvious deduction, and Jaké had no reason to deceive anyone at

this point. For any plan to work, he needed the backing of the family,

especially the approval of Old Mr. Fletcher.
