Love at the 1941
Cornered
Despite Amethyst’s mysterious technique, Gwain dodged the attack in time.
It gave Aora the opportunity to get closer to him and snatch the Dragon
Tome from his pocket.
“Let’s go!” After taking the Dragon Tome, Aora grinned at Gwain. He waved his
hand at his companions, and the four envoys immediately disappeared into
the jungle.
“D*mn it! Godd*mnit!”
“We need to go after them! They aren’t going anywhere!”
Hank and Wyatt huffed. They’re unforgivable! How dare they steal the
scripture with such a dirty trick? Mr. Gwain worked so hard to obtain it!
“It’s fine. No need to go after them.” Gwain stopped them.
“Why?” Hank turned around in confusion “Mr. Gwain, are you afraid of them?
Cornered
We can definitely win if we fight them head–on.!”

“They’re just Teddy’s lap dogs. I can’t care less about them.” Gwain
harrumphed. His expression was cold and arrogant, his tone disdainful. “The
scripture is fake. They can bring it back to Teddy and let him blow himself up.”
“Fake?” Hank and Wyatt were
booked.
Gwain ignored them and walked over to the injured Summerton siblings. He
looked down at them and coldly interrogated, “Are you from the Summerton
family?”
The two didn’t bother to answer him. Isn’t it obvious? We just saw each other
when we climbed the mountain.
Gwain grabbed Julian’s collar to hoist him up and glowered at him. “Tell me.
Did the hidden Summerton family give you the real Dragon Tome?”
“That’s right!” Julian chuckled, his eyes showed no sign of fear.
Cornered
To him, Gwain was just like any other man. He couldn’t beat any of them
anyway.
健
“Where’s the scripture?” Gwain’s eyes were filled with killing intent as he tried
to intimidate Julian.
He suspected the hidden Summerton family must have given the real
Dragon Tome to another member of the Summerton family while he
received the fake one.
He was furious. Those sly b*stards! They’re messing with us!
“The four hunting dogs just now took it. What? They stole your book, and now
you’re taking it out on us?” Julian mocked.
Roselynn’s safety is all that matters. He didn’t dream about staying alive.
Gwain slapped him hard. The momentum knocked him to the ground and
caused blood to drip from the corner of his mouth.
“You! Answer me!” he threatened, pointing at the equally injured Ashton.

Comered
Ashton couldn’t help but shake her head. “Julian had told you everything.
What else do you expect me to tell you? That you’re incompetent? That even
Teddy’s dogs can bully you?”
Gwain’s thin lips trembled in anger before he kicked Julian hard. His face was
devoid of emotions. “Say that to me again, and I’ll kill your brother!”
The threat worked like a charm.
Although Ashton wasn’t afraid of death, she couldn’t watch Julian being killed.
Hence, she gritted her teeth and glared at Gwain.
“Have you read the scripture?”
“No,” she replied with hatred.
Gwain tilted his head and signaled Hank. The latter immediately kicked Julian
hard again.
Julian felt like his internal organs had shifted. The pain was indescribable.

Cornered.
“I only read it briefly. I don’t remember much,” she admitted through gritted
teeth.
“Then, you should recite what you remember to me,” Gwain ordered.
Worried that Gwain would torture Julian more, she recited a few insignificant
sentences.
To her surprise, her recitation stunned Gwain, who muttered to himself, “I was
right. It’s different from the scripture we received.”
“Mr. Gwain, I doubt she only remembers two sentences. Should we press her
further?” Hank whispered a suggestion, which left Wyatt cringed out.
He wasn’t the only person who admired Gwain’s talent. Gwain also had a
reputation and was respected by many. Still, pressuring a weak woman
would harm Gwain’s image.
However, Gwain didn’t see it that way. He dreamed of becoming the top
martial artist in the world. Since there were no outsiders around, he wasn’t

So, he signaled Hank again. Hank immediately gave Julian a few kicks.
