Let’s Rewrite Our Love Story, Ms Summer Frost

CHAPTER 53

CHAPTER 53

“Come on Lisa Listen to me.“Xander called after Lisa as he hurried after her while she descended down the staircase as fast her legs could carry her. She was fully clothed in a short blue gown and a black handbag.

“Why should i wait for you, Xander 7” She finally stopped once she stepped inside the living room, and turned to Xander who had just walked up to her.

“Can you calm

“That is the last thing you should tell me in this situation, Xander. You found out about everything that happened and didn’t deem it fit to tell me… You did nothing about it-

“What was I supposed to do. Lisa? What would you have me done about this? Mom is on the sickbed, so you weren’t expecting me to go confront her there, are you?” Xander couldn’t hold it in anymore, so he yelled at the top of his voice and ran his fingers through his hair. It was already frustrating having to keep that shit to himself all this while, it was frustrating and killing enough that Summer didn’t want him, but even though it was hard for him, he was never going to let anyone find out that his Mom ruined his life. He was going to keep it to himself until she was line and discharged at least.

“She ruined your life, Xander. She ruined everything. I get it that she never liked Summer, but that doesn’t give her the right to do what she did!” Lisa yelled frustratingly, and he exhaled deeply.

“I know, Lisa.….…. I know she shouldn’t have done it, but can you please calm down? You can’t just-

“If she cared about you the way you did for her, she wouldn’t have done that. What she did is not right, and since she’s not in coma, she should own up to her mistake,” She turned to leave, but he held her hand and shook his head pleadingly.

“I’m going to sort everything out, I promise. I’m going to do something-

“Sorry, but I don’t have that much patience to wait for you until you are ready to do something about it. I’m going to make sure Mom realizes what she did was wrong… And that doctor… He’s going to regret ever hurting my brother,” She yanked his hand off and walked away.

He slumped on the couch and rubbed his forehead frustratingly. There was no point in stopping her when he knew she was never going to listen to him, so he just gave up-

“Daddy!” Came Ella’s voice as she ran into the living room, fully clothed in her school uniform.

“Ella…” He looked at the little girl and managed to smile.

“Daddy, are you ok? You don’t look fine,” Ella asked worriedly as she cupped his cheeks in her little palms, and he nodded.

“Yes, darling, I’m fine. Where’s your nanny?”

“I’m here, Sir,” Just then, Phoebe walked inside the living room, holding Ella’s lunchbox.

by yourself

“Oh… You’re here…” He paused then stood up and continued, “I don’t think I’ll be able to take Ella to school. You should take her there by today.”

“Alright, Sir,” Phoebe nodded.

He turned to Ella and squatted in front of her. NôvelDrama.Org © content.

“Baby girl… I’m sorry, but Daddy has to o go see grandma at the hospital, so I don’t think I can make it. Let’s have dinner together tonight, ok?” He slowly stroked her hair, and she nodded sadly.

“See you soon,” He kissed her forehead before Phoebe finally led her out, and he exhaled again.

“Light” He groaned as he slumped on the couch and rubbed his forehead slowly.

“Why don’t you go to the hospital and see the situation there?‘ He really wanted to listen to his heart, but what was the point? Was it going to change anything?

At least you’ll get to see if she is remorseful about her actions‘ And with that in mind, he stood up, grabbed his car keys from the center table, and

sauntered out of the house.

He arrived at the hospital a couple of minutes later, and Lisa’s car was parked right at the parking lot.

He took the elevator to the floor where his Mom was admitted, but paused when he stepped out of the elevator. Was it worth it? Was the question he asked himself yet again. Will it change anything whether or not she was remorseful about her actions? But then, his curiosity wouldn’t let him change his mind, so he proceeded to the ward.

“No, Mom… Your heart was just clouded by hatred for an innocent lady that did nothing but his fingers tightly when he heard Lisa’s teary voice from inside the ward.

loved your son wholeheartedly!” He paused and clenched

“She was not good for your brother, Lisa I did what any mother would do to protect their child…”

“watching your son in misery for six fucking years was not protection… You ruined his whole life! You ruined his entirety, and you think there’s anything to justify that act?” His heart wrenched painfully and he bit his bottom lip as he finally stood in front of the transparent door and watched his Mom who was seated on the bed, crying.

I was just trying to protect my son… I didn’t want him to fall into the wrong hands. I never meant to hurt him, trust me,” it hurt to see his Mom in tears, even in that moment, he couldn’t bring himself to hate her though she deserved to be hated for all she had done. The only thing he felt was pity toward this woman

“Have you ever asked yourself if he really wanted that protection? You have a daughter, Mom… What if someone treated me that way? What if I get married and my mother–in–law did this to me? Would you be happy about it?” Lisa scoffed as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“You know Summer was my friend… She was the best girl xander could ever get… She genuinely loved him. What was her crime? Because she was not from a wealthy home… Because she was an orphan. Have you ever thought about my fate if that ever happened to me?”

“I didn’t mean to hurt anyone—”

“Yes, you meant to. You meant to hurt someone and that person was Summer, but you didn’t know it was going to affect Xander that much!”

“Lisa…” The woman whimpered as she tried to touch Lisa, but she stepped away from her while shaking her head.

“Please don’t resent me… Please don’t let Xander resent me…”

“Everyone has left your side, Mom… The moment you did that to him even though it wasn’t known, everyone left you! I’m disappointed! I can’t even loo at you the same way because–”

“That’s enough, Lisa, Xander finally pushed the door open and walked inside.

“It’s enough. You should leave,” He held Lisa’s hand and dragged her out of the ward.

“You think I’m going to let everything slide because you are doing that?” Lisa scoffed after she wiped off her tears.

“Lisa”

“I’m never going to do that, Xander. I’m going to avenge my friend. I’m going to avenge Summer, and that is a promise,” And with that, sho walked away angrily, and Xander exhaled deeply…
