Ingrid furiously marched to her room and slammed the door shut.
Martha had just woken up the following morning and was still in her sleepwear when she heard Ingrid yelling from upstairs.
“Bring me to the hospital now.”
Martha’s lips twitched. Last time, she had been flustered and genuinely worried. This time, though, she was more used to it. She pulled out her phone and called Dan. “Hello, Mr. Rover. She’s got stomach pain again.”
“Got it,” he responded. “I’ll drive the car over.”
She then called Evelyn. “Mrs. Johnson, it’s happening again…”
Martha managed the whole process with calm
rtise.
At the hospital, Evelyn stood in the hallway outside the ward with a stern expression. The doctor told her the same diagnosis as yesterday. “It’s nothing serious. The patient just needs more rest.”
Evelyn had enough. She stormed into the ward and scolded Ingrid, “Why do you always need to be rushed to the hospital over nothing? What do you think this place is?
“What’s the point of having a brain if you don’t use it? I’ve never seen anyone as dramatic as you. What are you good at if you can’t even care for yourself during pregnancy?”All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
She recalled the time when Miranda was around. Miranda would take care of Hansel and would never cause Evelyn any trouble. Whenever a problem arose, she would settle it herself. If she couldn’t, she would calmly discuss it with Evelyn
Looking at Ingrid in the bed, Evelyn couldn’t help but find her more irritating than a pest. Every minor issue threw the whole household into chaos. It was as if the world had to revolve around her.
Who had time for that? Did Ingrid really think she was the center of the universe? What a joke!
Ingrid paid no attention to Evelyn’s outburst. After being discharged that afternoon, she was back at it the following morning. She claimed she had stomach pain and demanded another hospital visit
At first, Evelyn would still take Martha’s calls for updates. But after a few of these calls, she told Martha, Handle it yourself. You don’t need to call me every time. Just take care of it.”
Martha was speechless and thought, “This household would fall apart without me.”
Evelyn finally had some peace. If Ingrid insisted on causing drama, Evelyn would leave it to someone else, as she had enough.
-Winter celebrated her birthday on May 3rd. The gift Miranda prepared arrived just two days before the big
day.
It was a diamond necklace from the “Eternal Starlight collection designed by the renowned jeweler
Cheryl Sterling. Winter had yearned for this piece for ages.
The necklace featured a deep blue diamond, which was the collection’s highlight. The color blue symbolized “hope“.
It was the token of love between the main characters in a hit romance movie “The Princess Diaires“. As the movie gained popularity, the necklace quickly sold out everywhere. It was impossible to find in local stores, so Miranda had to buy it from Balmoria through a contact.
Winter eagerly asked Miranda to help her put it on. “Oh my gosh! It’s gorgeous. No wonder everyone wants to buy it. I often asked at the store, but they kept saying it was out of stock.”
She was wearing a light blue, off–the–shoulder mermaid dress, which complemented the necklace perfectly. She looked so beautiful.
Evelyn had afternoon tea with a few close friends at a leisure club. They were on the large terrace, surrounded by floor–to–ceiling windows. Soothing music played in the background, and they enjoyed various pastries.
Since Martha stopped updating her on Ingrid’s situation, everything seemed brighter. Sometimes, she couldn’t help but wonder if insisting on keeping Ingrid’s baby was the right decision.
