Chapter 503
"You rejected him?" Naomi asked.
Sienna nodded. "I did."
Naomi sighed as an expression that screamed "I knew it!" crossed her face. "What am I going to do with you?"
A pregnant silence descended upon them for a moment. It was broken by Naomi when she said earnestly, "You could try dating Torin. Who knows? Maybe the two of you are a good match for each other. Honestly, it's about time for you to forget about Hollis and move on, Sienna."
Sienna lowered her eyes and didn't say a word in response.
Shaking her head helplessly, Naomi continued, "I just don't understand. Hollis is handsome, but what else about him draws you to him? Babe, just because he has a good-looking face doesn't mean that you have to be hung up on him for so many years."noveldrama
Melancholy flickered in Sienna's eyes before she answered Naomi with all the seriousness she could muster.
"There are a lot of great things about him other than his good looks. His academics were excellent when he was studying, and he was always happy to offer his help to those who needed it. The teachers and other students were very fond of him.
"Although his family background isn't all that impressive, he's very hardworking and always strives to improve himself.
"Naomi, I know that he has feelings for me, but he won't admit it because of the gap between our family backgrounds. He's been pouring all his efforts into his business for the past few years, which is why I want to keep waiting for him."
"You're blinded by your love for him." Naomi didn't beat around the bush and pointed out the reality of the situation to Sienna.
"His academics are good because he had no other option but to study hard. He's been working hard to build up his business, but no matter how much effort he puts into it, the most he'll ever be is a small-time business owner. He'll never be able to stand on the same level as you.
"At the end of the day, he's still the son of your family's housekeeper while you're the heiress of the Ziegler family. Your parents will never approve of him."
The melancholy in Sienna's eyes deepened. Her dejected appearance made Naomi's heart clench painfully. "Babe, there's no point in dragging out the inevitable and continuing to hurt yourself like this. Why don't you try looking for someone else?"
Sienna's lashes drooped. She murmured, "But I've loved him for so many years. I've already gotten used to the pain of waiting."
Naomi shook her head helplessly upon noticing the stubborn expression on Sienna's face. She sighed. "Forget it. You're not going to give up on your feelings unless you get burned. Do whatever you want."
Sienna remained quiet, letting the conversation fizzle out.
The atmosphere turned a little depressing. Naomi sipped on her water before she changed the subject. "A long time has passed. What's taking Tessa so long?"
"Oh, you're right." Sienna's brow furrowed. "Did something happen to her?" Naomi straightened up from the lounge chair. She slipped her feet into her sandals before standing up. "Let's check out what's happening next door." Sienna also rose to her feet. "Alright," she replied.
Meanwhile, a thick haze of desire surrounded Stephen and Tessa, who were still wrapped up in each other. Stephen's hot breath fanned across the back of Tessa's neck. His voice was hoarse and sexy when he asked, "Did you miss me?"
Tessa had her back to Stephen. Although the water in the pool was cool, Tessa felt like she was on the verge of overheating, her body covered in a thin sheen of sweat.
Refusing to voice out her true feelings, Tessa replied, "No."
"No? Answer me again."
The ripples that radiated across the water's surface began to increase in frequency. Stephen abandoned his initial gentleness as he rocked into Tessa more powerfully.
It was at that moment that both of them heard a series of knocks on the wooden door.
Tessa's rationality, which had
previously fled her, returned
instantaneously. Their surroundings
turned deathly silent, leaving only the sounds of Tessa's rapid heartbeat to pound deafeningly in her ears.
"Tessa, are you inside?" Sienna called from beyond the door.
"What's taking you so long, Tessa? Are you alright?" Naomi asked.
Tessa hummed softly, reminiscent of a sweet and lovely kitten. "It's Naomi and Sienna," she whispered. "Let me open the door for them."
"Darling, you're really putting me through the wringer here." Stephen chuckled. "We're almost done."
"What are we going to do if they barge in?" Tessa hissed.
What do you think?
